Mai Pearl — Restaurant in Foxborough

I work in close proximity to this restaurant and both myself along with many of my co workers partake in lunch from this establishment quite often. I love the sushi and the staff have always been rather pleasant..... Until recently! About 3 weeks ago I ordered 3 rolls of vegetarian caterpillar, only to get back to work and find it was not a vegetarian caterpillar and was full of eel which is really slimey and grossed me out, it even caused me to vomit in front of my co workers. This was humiliating to say the least. After work I stopped by Mai Pearl and explained how disturbing this event was for me I spoke to a woman who was kind and quickly agreed that I could come back on my lunch break the next day and they would replace without any issues. I asked if she would be there next day and remember I was coming in for free replacement, she asked me my name and assured me not worry about it my order would be replaced next day with no issues. I called to place order as you cannot order online without making online payment, which ended up turning into me calling explaining the entire story placed on hold and hung up on not once, not even twice, but 3 times which took up my entire lunch break. Finally after over an over I was able to speak to a manager who agreed to remake the incorrect order from the day before however even after explaining all the teeth pulling and calling that was required on my part to have this corrected no apology was made and no further attempts were made by Mai pearl to show acknowledgement for the frustration of me having to go with out lunch 2 days in a row because of...

Very rude experience. Ive been ordering there for years and dealt with so much and never complained. Tonight im ordering a simple meal for my daughter. I called and place my order ( pork fried rice) only. Im a busy mom no time to cook tonight i just wanted to grab and go. I place my order for pick up and realized i didn't have my wallet. I called back to pay over the phone since I know the number to my card. The owner picks up im explaining i want to pay over the phone i dont have my wallet. She yells at me IF U DONT HAVE MONEY DONT ORDER FOOD. She hangs up the phone without giving me a chance to talk. I call Right back to say i just ordered fried rice and i Would like To pay over the phone. Same lady answered and hung up again. This time I get that the first time might have been accidental the second time also. I called a third time and This time very furious because at this point its disrespectful. Same lady answered and asked me to stop calling this number if i can't pay for order. Im telling her that i can pay over the phone with my card and that i need to give my number and she yells at me "IM TO BUSY TONIGHT. NEXT TIME IF U CNT PAY TO NOT ORDER AGAIN and hung up again. I went there a couple of times for their dinner and it was pretty good. I tried their lunch menu a there were so many things wrong I am not sure if I will go back.

#1 They will not allow any substitutions #2 They do not offer LoMein and their fried rice (which is the only one they offer) was bland and cold and much different from the dinner fried rice. #3 The mushroom soup the waiter suggested was horrible, nothing but broth. #4 All of their Chicken Wings, Beef Teryaki, and Boneless Spareribs all taste REHEATED from the night before.

Overall I am giving them 2 stars for their lunch menu and possibly 3-3.5 stars for their dinner menu. They need to serve fresh hot food, it does not matter how long they take to get it done RIGHT! I wish the put the effort into their lunch that they do for...
