Papa Gino's — Restaurant in Foxborough

Ordered on the app said it would be ready at 520 I didn't go to the counter till 525 and the employee said it will be only a few more minutes. Gave another 10 minutes went back up that same employee started taking an order then walked away started putting together boxes and taking over an area where someone else was already working. He seemed to be completely out of it like he didn't know what was going on. Finally (now 30 minutes passed the 520) he came back we received half our order he said the rest will be another minute. I went put everything down at the table waited another 5 minutes went back up stood there for another 5 then he came back looked at me then turned around to check on the chicken melt. Finally another 5 minutes and he came over with the last of our order. Someone that was with us waited 30 minutes for 1 order of the cinnamon sticks. Another waited 25 minutes after the app said for a cold turkey sub. People stood at the counter getting pissed off because no one came over to see why they were there. We get it if they were really busy our food could have taken longer but when we walked in there was no one there and they only had 1 ticket they were working on. Went to this papa ginos last Thursday 12-14-23 with my son. Right off the bat I noticed that they were short staffed and they were busy. My son and I wait it out, place our order, and within 20 - 25 minutes our name is called, and order is ready. We ate in the restaurant and as we were eating my 11 year old son says "how is this pizza this good when they are that busy? its cooked perfectly". Not going to lie the pizza was one of the better ones we have had from other papa ginos locations. The restaurant itself could use some tlc, but i have to say the team is what made me want to write this review. None of them panicked. They didn't even seem mad or upset about their short staffed situation and orders piling in. In fact, watching the manager direct traffic while answering waiting guest questions with a smile on his face was impressive. So impressive that i pointed it out to my son that in any environment, no matter how stressful, it's all about your attitude. OK I would never think of going on to review a Papa Gino's but I was so impressed with this location today! It was another LONG day of working from home glued to the computer and I was ravenous. I had an issue ordering online so called, the gentlemen who answered checked for me and confirmed the online order had not come through, took my order, patiently waited for the details of my delivery address, and was just so pleasant. He informed me that he was the driver as well. He arrived within about 20 minutes, I opened the door and he was there with a smile on his face and a "Thank you, have a nice day". So many drivers now leave the order on the steps and drive away. Some had neglected to even ring the bell! Nope, my faith is restored in customer service, side note, it was the most delicious Papa Gino's pizza I have had in YEARS.
