Edited for Ms. Susan the so-called owner:
IF I COULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS I WOULD 👎🏽
Susan from the looks of your response to my review, I get the feeling that I would have had the same experience if you were there that day. Instead of insulting & arguing with your customers, just do better.
Customers if you look at their low rating reviews, the owners tend to deny most of the bad reviews on here. Mine was not the only one.
Anyone who purchases food expects it to be hot & fresh. It's what we're paying for. Bottom line. People deserve honest reviews I refuse to take mine down. I did not get an apology & at this point I don't even want one. I went to your business a total of three times, twice with my family & once on my own. The time that I went on my own was my worst experience there. This is a fact. Hamilton BBQ gave me their end of the day leftovers. And it was definitely Hamilton BBQ in Somerset. The Better Business Bureau confirmed the location. You lost a good paying customer & I am pretty sure that with the attitude you have towards your customers within your business's community you will continue to lose more. Our overall experience here was horrible. THE FOOD WAS OVERLY SALTED, COLD, overly priced with small portions, not clean & the SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE.
Susan, here's my experience that you deny happened:
The night that I purchased my food, I stood around & waited for over 30 min to get a warmish cold aluminum pan of food. I could feel through the paper bag that the food was warmish cold. When I asked the cashier/ a Hispanic guy at the register, why the food was cold he told me the food is what they had left from the day. He had already charged me full price for it. After admitting that the food wasn't fresh, they didn't at least heat the food up properly & they were trying to get away with charging me full price for it. I told the cashier, that he should have told me that it was not fresh & that the food was cold before he charged me full price for it & that he should have at least given me a discount for cold food. When I asked to speak with a manager, that's when this taller male comes from the office with the biggest attitude, pulls the food out of the paper bag, peels the aluminum foil back on the food tray, puts a fork in it & tells me to try it. He immediately became irate. He was a taller male than the Hispanic male, he only spoke English to me, claimed to be the manager & certainly did not look like a Susan to me. He spoke with a strong, maybe Middle Eastern, accent. He was extremely unprofessional, bad for business & does not need to be working around customers. He literally unwrapped my purchased food in front of me, stuck a fork in it and handed it to me & said "Here, tell me if it's cold." I kept my composure from slapping him across the face. He was lucky I didn't call my husband to come in & have the owner try it himself. All because I told them that the food was warmish cold. I had just purchased my food & they expected me to take it home & heat it up. The guy needs training on how to treat customers. If he tried that with a man it would have not ended that way for him. He was nasty, rude. And as I walked out, he had a Hispanic waitress there that was acting very rude to me as well.
Overall, flies everywhere, dirty, service has an attitude, the meat is overly salted, small portions of meat, the restaurant itself is cold in temperature, people were mopping with strong smelling cleaning agents while customers are dining and waiting for their food, it's not a welcoming spot, their parking is small, but overall the service is horrible. It was not the first time I didn't like my experience there & I gave this place a couple of chances because it's close to my home. But after that terrible experience there I never went back.
I called the better business bureau on them. They should be ashamed of themselves treating good paying customers like that. You are not the only BBQ spot in town.

Read moreIt’s summer and one cannot help but develop a for barbecue. My part of town is not really known for it and I have had rhe pleasure of trying texas barbecue, so you might say I suffer from high expectations. Nonetheless, I decide to venture outside my county and come across Hamilton Barbecue. Hamilton Barbecue is a portuguese style barbecue so I am not expecting ot to taste like Texas. First impressions are the place has a neighborhood feel, it has a great corner location with parking and as I walk in I see people either picking up lunch orders or coming in for lunch. A great sign that this place could be good. I order a combo of beef ribs and short rins. The order comes with yellow rice, which I think the same rice they use for paella, you can choose a sidw dish of fries, beans, or plantain. I chose plantain. For dessert, I noticed a statement on their menu that says that desserts are home made, so i went with the flan. I mean whi doesent like flan? I liked the barbecue flavor, it wasnt overpowering but it was there. The meat was good but a little more effort needed im chewing simce I am used to the slow smoking process of Texas barbecue which makes the mest fall of the bone. As for the flan, it was excellent ans made a grear complement to the meal. Inam definitely going to become a...
Read moreI visited Hamilton BBQ for the first time today. I was so excited to finally get my chicken and ribs. I walked in was told I could sit anywhere. There was a table for 2 by the soda fridge so I took that since I was a party of 1. My order taken, my drinks and plates brought over. After waiting it was time for my chicken and rib platter to arrive. When the waitress walked over and asked me to move so they can push the table over for the other party. The party of 5 or 6 could have comfortably added a chair to the 2 larger tables that were available. Instead I was asked to sit there. Standing perplex by the counter still not understanding how you can be asked to move as a paying customer after being seated over 30min. I chose to cancel my order and leave. Between the confusion, disappointment and embarrassment my appetite left. This was something I have never experience and really hope that this establishment that seems to be thriving never put another customer in...
