I bought food for my son there all the time. I would spend close to $30 dollars each time, even today as the owner was being inconsiderate and rude.
I bought food a 2 days ago and paid with my debit card as usual. As she was getting the food, I told her that I was going to use the restroom. Upon exiting the restroom, I found my debit card on the counter in the open where several people were standing and able to read the card's information including my name. One of the patrons standing there advised me not to let my personal information out in the open. I explained to him that I was unaware of my debit card being exposed to everybody. Since I was on my way to work, I decided to leave but figured that I would come back to bring this incident to her attention.
I spoke to her today and she was unapologetically annoyed that I brought it up to her. Not that I was surprised by her reaction, by the way she treats her customers and workers, but I thought she would be understanding of her mistake. However, she instead tried to blame me for using the restroom while she clearly mishandled the transaction. I just hope that no one uses my info to pay for any online transactions because she would have to reimburse me for everything. I'll never go back there again starting today because she was really reckless and unprofessional! Lastly, she treats customers as if they need her and not the...
Read moreSept 2025 Recent visit was on Tuesday 9/4. I should have read my own review before going back. The food was not good and some authentic taste was missing. These people don’t seem to be Jamaican my guess is Trini passing as JA. The service was excruciatingly slow. Too much grave all over everything, the rice was literally soup and the jerk chicken was dry and inedible. The festival was an absolute gimmick as well as the fry dumpling. I was very disappointed.
Dec/2024 Came here while visiting family. The service was slow but that’s to be expected at a Jamaican restaurant I guess. The patty needs help. It was horrible in every aspect. They need to spring for the $$ and hire someone with more experience making patty. The jerk chicken was palatable but not delicious. The rice and peas was hard and dry but the chicken had a little authentic taste to it. The festivals need to be discontinued. Straight rubber. Not for people with bad or failing teeth or dentures.
The star of the show was the mannish water. If I knew the rest of my food was going to be so bad I would have just spent my $35 on straight manish water. Never ever have I tasted mannish water or Jamaican soup this good. I will return for the soup and...
Read moreWent here with wife & kids thinking I was going to just get some take out Caribbean food. To my surprise, I saw a few people dining at very nice outdoor dining setup, so we decided to stay and eat. Nice outdoor vibes playing softly in background, well shaded, and lights for when it gets dark (we came during evening in mid sept.). The staff was warm and freindly, and patient with us as we decided what we wanted.
Our food came out with a plastic cover to our outdoor spot (a good sign). Unlike other spots I've been to, the wait was not that long. We all loved our food! If I could use one word to describe everything, it would be FRESH. We have eaten at MANY Caribbean restaurants and my wife is Jamaican. The chicken, the vegetables, the rice and everything else was fresh tasting. Not like some of the microwaved, left over, gobbly goop we got at other places (plainfield, amboy). My only complaint about this place was that they ran out of dumplings (good for them, I guess those are popular).
Me, wife, & kids all loved this place - hands down! Fresh food, a good cook, and good vibes....Have been back several times since our first visit and this place is definitely one of my top 2 favorite Caribbean...
