We were on our way home and decided to NOT take the interstate South. We fueled up and googled "Asian Food Near Me." One of the options was Ching Asian Bistro outside of Franklin. We had passed this little oasis town/village several times doing studio work in the area but never made the turn to check out until NOW. It was on a Sunday afternoon so many of the businesses were already closed. Ching Asian Bistro served everything up HOT from the stove! Our spring rolls were piping hot and FRESH. My wife, who is Korean, is the biggest critic of spring rolls and we almost fought over the 2 we ordered. Her next big critique is always the hot and sour - so she tried it. One spoon and she was in Heaven! The taste was smooth and perfect on the pallet. Our order was the 5 season Triple Crown, Hot Fish, and my son at the Lo Mein Beef. As hungry as we were, having walked Opry Mills AND Green Hills Malls that day, we still had leftovers. The Triple Crown was exceptionally prepared with beef, chicken, and shrimp. Each meat was marinated perfectly and the season was blended well with all the vegetables. The hot fish was cooked to perfection. It was seasoned and prepared as if you were sitting down with the cook at their personal table.
As it seems, the locals really love it too - as we were there, many people were ordering take out and no one seemed to have to wait once they arrived.
My apologies for not having pics - as I hadn't even thought about the review until this morning. That's how good this was - I was still thinking about it on Monday!
With the portions you receive the price range is perfect. Plates like our ranged from 12 - 15 but as mentioned - we have enough to carry over into the next day.
My son really enjoyed the area of Westhaven. He said it reminded him of WandaVision (for all you Marvel Fans). My wife wants to move there. LOL All of this, from a plate of well a well prepared meal and short drive to...
Read moreI visited this location with one other person for lunch. The place was not very busy and there was plenty of seating.
They offered lunch specials for $12.00, which was nice. I got the Hunan Chicken and Shrimp, which also came with 1 egg roll and white/fried rice. The food was quite excellent for the price and was definitely better than your average Chinese food.
Service was very fast (to be expected, since it wasn’t busy), and the servers were very attentive to the table. They were also very kind and friendly.
The only real issue was the atmosphere. It felt like there was a little bit of a disconnect between the quality of the food and the rest of the restaurant. The cups were cheap plastic blue cups, and the silverware seemed cheap too. Some of the furnishings seemed dated as well, though I actually did like the wallpaper. It seems like a minor thing, but I think updating these items would really elevate the experience that much more.
Overall, a nice place to get better than average Chinese food...
Read moreDon't waste your money. Don't support these awful people. I ordered once and the food was good. I ordered again three days later and was given half the amount of food for the same price. When I told the owners they said, "Beef is expensive. Don't order again." Then continued to yell at me in front of 3 tables of customers for a few minutes before finally giving my money back. I wish I had taken a picture of how little food I was given for $13. Imagine one hamburgers worth of beef. Although I live in the neighborhood their restaurant is located in I will do as they asked and never order again. I wouldn't want to support these people's business anyway. They're an...
