Sad to post this review. Ground was our go to spot. No longer. Poor environment, poor service, poor food quality.
They changed to a self ordering system to QR code or via the computer at the counter. My guess for this is to reduce the cost of labor. There were two young men behind the counter to process the orders. The new ordering system removes the urgency for the cooks to have customer service etiquette.
After the annoying food ordering process we had the pleasure of sitting in the dirty lobby and listening to the cooks openly discuss various topics like how they ate something bad and got sick for two weeks, or made comments about my guest wanting their patty well done...something to the effect of "if I ever order my burger like this, slap me in the face with it". I was also able to count three times that one particular worker wiped his nose with the back of his hand/wrist area. The elderly couple that came in behind us was greeted with the workers discussing "after this order lets start to get this place cleaned up so we can get out of here ASAP" referencing the potential severe weather....2 hours before closing...
Last comments about the food. All three of the burgers came well done when we only requested it on one. I ordered my favorite four alarm fire burger. It came without the onion straws and the spicy ranch. I ended up eating a few bites but threw the rest away as well as my wifes burger, then made food out of the fridge. I did not order the wings when I found out it was $13 for a 6 count...maybe they are big wings? Didnt want to gamble to find out.
If the restaurant continues this way they will be closed by the end of the year unfortunately. We loved this place, took our kids on the weekends. I hate to leave such a lengthy review but the experience was truly...
Read moreI haven't eaten at the restaurant in person, so take the review with a grain of salt but I have ordered delivery quite a few times. I'd like to start with the good, the batter they use on their fried mushrooms is just a little spicy and the best frying batter I've ever tasted. However, being a burger restaurant, I had much higher expectations for the actual burgers. They are mostly the quality you get at a Wendy's or Mcdonald's, albeit a bit bigger. To test this, I changed the order range at all levels between rare and well done on subsequent orders, the burgers were always cooked the exact same. Probably because they are very thin and smashed so even if it is "more" burger, they pancake it instead of allowing for various levels of cooking. I prefer the burgers at Hardee's for that style of cooking and they cost about half as much. If you want a great burger that isn't just assembly line monotony, I would highly suggest looking elsewhere.
After the owner's response (which I cannot reply to) I would add the following. I ordered the four alarm burger multiple times because I love spicy food. After the first disappointing burger (very flat and not cooked to order), I tried every option from rare to well done, same burger every delivery. The condiments are pretty good, but the burger is always very generic, they might give you a bit more for the price, but in no way is the price worth the quality. They probably do have very good quality meat, but they only cook their burgers at medium well, and without much in the way...
Read moreWe drive by this place every day to/from my son's school and was excited to try it....big disappointment. The seating is cramped and uncomfortable for any parties 2+, the interior is loud and the floors are slick/greasy? The staff taking our order was very nice, but the wait was rather long and the food was disappointing. To start, the fried mushrooms - which were huge, literally they are fresh whole mushrooms chopped in half (which is great), but the breading was overkill and they were WAY TOO SALTY! There was a nice touch of heat/spice to them though. The burger was overcooked and dry, the bun looked like it was going to be delicious, but it was so incredibly greasy, the freshness of the bun got lost. Both adults in our party paid for bacon to be added and it was forgotten. When we went back up to the counter to mention this, the nice gal behind the counter gave us a bowl full of bacon - which was sweet, but it would've been nice to get it as ordered originally. The fries were overdone for our taste (several were completely burnt) and again, incredibly WAY TOO SALTY. My niece enjoyed her chicken tenders, but did comment they were also too salty for her. My son loved his hot dog (he's 4) and the coloring sheets/crayons were a hit. I was really hoping to enjoy this little hole-in-the-wall, since we love to support locally owned joints, but we probably won't...
