Picked up from here last night. Ordered the following for carryout. Jumbo Bavarian Pretzels, Shepherd's Pie with Rueben soup, Leprechaun Sliders (no pink).
Review. The pretzels are about the size of Auntie Ann's (for comparison), however for $8.95 I expected more cheese. The serving size is a small condiment cup something you would get mayo in, the mustard was in the same size dish. For us we had to skimp on the dipping or we would have run out. Serving size of cheese 2 points taste 4 points
The sliders were cooked as requested the taste was good, but nothing to write home about. the slider meat is nothing more than a regular round, flat patty cut into 4's, it appears as if cut after cooking. If I ordered again I would just get the Pub Burger, for $2 more) and cut it in quarters. Value 4 points, taste 3 points, presentation 2 points (I did not like the look of the quartered burger. I thought it looked cheap)
Shepard's Pie. This is what I was really looking forward to. I was kind of disappointed when ordering as I asked if, for my included soup, I could do Chili and they stated it would be a $4.95 upcharge. This is the same amount it is listed for on the menu if purchased on it's own.... so why would I want to substitute. I declined and ordered the Reuben soup. Let's start there. I would call this more of a corned beef soup with no dressing. I could not taste anything that seemed like saurkraut or russian (or thousand island) dressing. With that being said... the soup is delicious. Almost the reason to upgrade to 4 star review. However, the description is not on point. Taste 5 points, description 2 points.
Now for what I was looking forward to the most. The Shepard's Pie. technically this is Cottage Pie (ground beef was used, not lamb) but I knew that from the description so no worries. I was a little worried about this as it has celery listed as as ingredient. Celery is not my favorite. I do not like the crunch or stringiness. First bite told me that was not going to be a concern. I could not "taste" it at all (good thing for me). When I think of Shepard's pie I visualize two layers, mashed potatoes on top of a hearty meat based 'thickened stew' type base. this IS NOT like that at all. You get, from what I could detect 4 layers a base of potatoes, a thin layer of Shepard's Pie Gravy, repeat layers. Nothing at all what I was expecting. with that being said, the taste was very good. Value 2 points ( I feel like I paid $15.95 for mashed potatoes with a great tasting gravy), taste 4.5 points.
I would be willing to give this place another shot. Their corned beef (in the soup) was good. I would try a Rueben, Corned beef sandwich or Fish. I will write another...
Read moremy friends and i had went here for a friends birthday, they had amazing food i will say that, our waiter was such a sweetheart and we understood the back up in the kitchen because next to us was a party of estimating 20 people, great service too. but the reason i have to put two stars is because of how DISGUSTING the bathrooms are. when we first walked in we got a odd smell of rotten eggs and we thought it was coming from the kitchen but once my friend said she had to use the bathroom and we went closer the smell started getting stronger, i was gagging from how bad it smelled and i genuinely feel horrible for the people who were seated next to the bathrooms. once we went in the bathroom it was a overpowering smell of rotten eggs, i donât know if the mens bathroom smelled the same but it smelled like it was coming from the womenâs although the bathroom looked really nice the toilets on the other hand did not. you know how some toilets have yellow tints to them thereâs nothing wrong with that but these toilets were flat out yellow on the inside and looked like they havenât been cleaned in god knows how long. i didnât even feel comfortable touching the handle to flush the toilet let alone use the bathroom so i didnât. i didnât stay long in the bathroom bc i was about to throw up over the smell. something should be done about this as people have to sit and eat next to the bathrooms. but again great service, amazing food i loved the fries those were...
Read moreDo not use this place for a large amount of people or any kind of large gathering. Scheduled ahead of time with them for a large gathering after a funeral, so they knew we were coming. It was all going on one tab and being paid by my uncle's spouse. They were extremely disorganized, taking food and drinks to the wrong tables. One women yelled extremely loud to tell people not to sit in a certain area so there was no seating for about 35 people. Then came out to yell again and tell everyone the main tab is being closed but some of us didn't even get our food or drinks after being there over an hour. Then when the direct family members of the person who died were going to leave, a younger waitress approached stating, well who is taking care of the bill, and not in a polite way! It came across as if she thought we were skipping out and had no compassion at all to my cousins that are mourning their dad. The woman paying the tab was at the bar and it was already settled and if they would have just communicated with each other it would of solved alot of issues they were experiencing. Then they had an unprovoked attitude as well when one of complained, and after that and kept walking up to the door staring at us outside when we were just waiting for someone. Do not plan an event here! Food was just ok...not authentic Irish food. And there staff was insensitive and rude, never coming back. Wayyy better places out...
