Rutledge Cafe — Restaurant in Franklin

Im new to Georgia and live in Franklin! After reading all the wonderful reviews I had to see if the food was as good as it looked. When we pulled up and I seen a small white house for the restaurant, I told my sister we are going to eat some delicious food in here. We'll we were not disappointed at all. We walked into a friendly greeting and was seated right away. Everything looked so good it was hard to decide. Our portions were hearty, the food was seasoned perfect and absolutely delicious!! The young ladies waiting on us was very attentive to us. When leaving we were treated a free banana pudding which was delicious. We became engaged in a wonderful long conversation with the owner about the history of the restaurant. We will both be back to try other food on the menu. Maybe the fish!! If you haven't eaten here yet, you should do yourself a favor and stop in. Your treated like family and a home cooked meal!...

This place has been in business 70 yrs for many reasons. Of course because it's the best soul food on the planet hands down. Handed down from Mama Rutledge to her Son. You feel the love when you walk into the door. You don't wanna leave just for that reason alone. But the love is obviously also the main ingredient in this amazing food. This is an excellent experience you dont wanna miss. It is off the beaten path and small town where all the locals hang and those places are usually the best. And Rutledge Cafe is better than the best. Man this place is awesome! Occasional like to find out of the way family run restaurants, and this one was an awesome find. Walked in, immediately greeted by the staff, and seated. Pretty simple menu of comfort foods. I had the cheeseburger, and my wife had the butterfly shrimp. Killer fried okra. The service was simply incredible. The food was even better than the service.
