Waffle House — Restaurant in Franklin

Arrived at 11:50 pm to dine in after a night out with my family. There was one booth open, all of the bar stool area and one more booth open but needed to be clean. Tammy one of the employees there was extremely rude and refused to let us dine in although there were other people doing so. Even though we would have rather dined in we grabbed menus to go ahead and order take out. Tammy came over and forced us all to move away from the bar stool area bc she needed to "block it off." After we ordered it took 40 minutes to get our order even though there was four people working and any tables the were occupied had been served their food. They kept making other people's to go orders that came in after us. In that 40 minute time many booths came open and instead of cleaning them and offering us a table Tammy just left them dirty. One of the items we ordered was biscuits and gravy and they literally tried to give it to us with maybe a spoonful of gravy on it claiming they were almost out of gravy. This place is open 24 hours and should have made more gravy when the got low instead of trying to serve biscuits and gravy with a drop of gravy on it. After waiting that 40 minutes for our food they bagged it all up and sent us on our way with no condiments what's so ever. I have been eating at Waffle House for many years and I have never ever had such horrible service as I got at the Franklin location. Will definitely be telling my friends and family NOT TO GO THERE and my family and I will NEVER go to this...

The entire time we were there EVERYONE was doing something. Nobody was not doing their job. It was noticeable that everyone was dedicated to their job. Refreshing to see. Now, Tammy is an excellent server. Gio is an excellent cook. The service and food could not have been better. From the moment we walked in until we left, everyone got excellent service. Seemed like several people were regulars and it was nice hearing everyone so courteous and friendly like old friends. The coffee was good. The hash browns were excellent and everything Gio made for us was delicious and cooked well beyond the expectations we have become accustomed to at Waffle House restaurants. We thank the staff for their hard work and dedication to making our visit here top notch. We look forward to coming back! PS we tipped Gio as well.

My husband wanted to add: Gio was so exceptional that he didn’t think an order of eggs were good enough so he trashed them and made a new order. Exceptional work ethic and dedication to providing food he’d eat...

Little disappointed. Male server was grumpy and inattentive at best. Opening greeting was " move over so i can wipe this down. (Table was clean and set). "I'll get to you when I can", second greering. I guess that's his idea of s greeting anyway. 11 mins later order taken. No coffee yet. New customers arrive in booth next to me. Drink order taken and presented. No coffee yet. Line cook pulls my order of waiters pad and begins my order. Coffee is delivered. No comments from server. Wishing at this point i was able to move to one of the happy, cheerful ladies wirking the other sections. Silverware and crumpled napkin dropped on table. Yes dropped. Mind you I love waffle house. I mean the food is ok, but at any of the 50 or so i have visited across the US It's the atmosphere and old diner feel. It's a great show when they call out the orders to the grill. A great bit of Americana and entertainment. This location this morning anyway. Didn't meet the norm...
