What an awesome pizza place. Food looked delicious too, but I came for the pizza. I did not do my research before. I had no idea that this place was similar to Frederici's in Freehold. Stumbled here accidentally because the name caught my attention and I am thrilled that I did. When ordering, I got the regular large cheese and, my newest "must have" is the Patsy pie. I will say, the original pizza is still better at the original Fredericis. Biggest difference, to me, is in the crust. Maybe the ovens are different here if they use the same ingredients. It's similar to the original, just a few notches lower. In my pizza book, I rate Frederici's a consistent 8.4 on the regular cheese pizza scale. I would rate this cheese slice a 7.6 which is still a very good slice. Now, to the star of the hour, the Patsy Pie. Now THIS is a terrific tasting pie. They use Marinara sauce here, fresh mozzarella, and topped with basil. This pie was a HUGE hit. Couldn't even go back and eat the regular once I started with the Patsy slice. Every bite was more delicious than the last. Cooked perfectly. Great flavor combinations that make my mouth water just thinking about it again. Super fresh ingredients and the mozzarella hugs the crust to create a terrific consistency in every bit. From what I was told, the vodka pie is also a big hit there so I have something to go back to try. For sure a must try if you are in the area and even a pizza pie worth driving for. Patsy pie just became my new favorite in the immediate area. Was fortunate enough to have Matt as my server who entertained my questions about the relationships and history of this place vs the original Frederici pizza of freehold. Broke down everything to me and clearly loves what he does. Rest of the staff was very friendly and courteous too. Went towards the end of the day with my wife and 2 kids and didn't know if I could get my kids to sit still. Called ahead a to go order which turned into a "we'll sit in and eat" order when we got there. The staff occomodated very quickly and got the food out very fast and warm. Awesome spot. Glad I "stumbled in" and highly recomend going. Again, aside from the pizza, the pasta dishes looked fantastic and the dining arrangement was full with people enjoying it. I was eating oitside and had to walk back throigh main dinig area to go back to my car. The dining room smelled great and the smell of fresh sauce and food got me hungry despite eating all this pizza minutes before. Highly recommend this place....you will not be...
Read moreMy husband and I went here a few times when we first got married and then switched to take -out during and after the pandemic. The food and service was always pretty good and quick. Fast forward to last week when we were scrambling to find a place to eat with two hungry, cranky toddlers. I called a few places and everyone told me it would be about a 45 min wait. Frankie Feds said it would be about a 20 min wait, give or take, but if we put our names down now, then we could probably get seated almost as soon as we got there. For reference, I called at 6pm, arrived at 6:08. We didn't get seated until past 7pm. At no point, during the 2 times I went to check in with the hostess, did she say that the wait is actually going to be more than double the wait time. She kept saying that there was nothing she could do and "what do you want me to do? kick out the other people?". It was very rude but at that point we just sucked it and hoped that the table would be ready soon. Finally, we get seated around 7:05, but it's fine because the waitress brings bread over for the kids and we were able to put in our order right away. All is well. EXCEPT, being seated right in front of the hostess stand, we could literally hear every conversation. One of the hostesses starts chatting with a customer about how impatient people when waiting for their table, and how could we expect her to just kick people out (which we would never ask for), and how she can't stand impatient people, that we should gone elsewhere, that we act like they're magicians, blah, blah. It was loud and obnoxious and we just sat there dumbfounded. It was so embarrassing that we contemplated leaving, if we didn't have two small, hungry children. For the record, she could have said, "hey, I miscalculated and it looks like it's going to be a while, etc. ) I think they forgot about us because two families (party of four and five) who arrived after us, were seated before us (Our kids were playing and we all got to chatting so I know they didn't call ahead like we did. BUT instead of apologizing, the hostesses just doubled-down. We ended just quickly scarfing down our food and left. I have never been so uncomfortable and I don't think we would ever go back. I would give ZERO stars for...
Read moreI kove Frankie Feds and the fact that they delivered. We ordered it monthly and always loved it which is why I am posting this review. Since it opened we got frankie feds at least once a month. About a year or so ago we ordered and the food was bad enough we called to let them know. It was coming out of covid and everyone was having a hard time hiring so we hoped it was just an off night. Three more times this year and the food continues to be poorly cooked and low quality. Every time it gets worse. I dont know if they got a new chef or something else is wrong. Tonight we ordered 125 worth of pizza and a few pasta dinners plus chicken federici (my favorite) it was awful. The pizza was inedible and the pasta dishes were just bad. So i post this in the hopes that the owners will wake up to the fact that something is wrong in the kitchen or in whomever is ordering food. We want the old frankie feds back but for now will just drive into town for regular feds. Please owners bring back your former...
