My wife and I were in Fremont, we asked for recommendations for dinner on a Monday night, when most restaurants in the area are closed for the season or just not open on Mondays. The first place mentioned was the Bridge Bar and Restaurant. We were told the food was good, well I must disagree, the food was exceptional. Due to the heavy rainstorm I got the food "to go". The place was almost empty when I got there around 5:00 pm. The bartender was friendly and very helpful in my food selections. My wife had ordered the fish sandwich with sweet potato fries. I ordered coconut shrimp appetizer, Wisconsin Chili with raw onions, sour cream and cheddar cheese, then I asked the bartender if I should order the Bridge Special burger (1/2 # burger done the way you like it, or should I try the Burger Of The Month, which was a 1/3# burger with sauteed onions, sweet pickle chips, lettuce and tomato on a pretzel bun with sweet potato fries. As I was waiting for my order, I realized I forgot to pick up ice, I asked if they sold ice, the first response was not at this time of year, then she went to talk to the cook, he showed her where to get the bags and to fill it for me. This saved me an extra trip to the gas station. We enjoyed all of our food and saved the leftovers for tomorrow. Great food with even better people, we will definitely be...
Read moreI have a MAJOR issue. We JUST left after having dinner. Family met from Green Bay, Wild Rose and Waupaca (we thought It'd be a good middle point). Our waitress was horrendous! Her overall service & attitude was absolutely awful extremely negative. It took her over 25 minutes to just get our order. And my shrimp tacos were disgusting. So it wasn't even worth all the waiting. To top it off the majority of empty tables were dirty, no one bussed them and sea gulls were flying in the dining area (outside). When we were taking family pictures by the dock afterwards I was near a table and it wasn't bussed, I knocked over a water glass ALL down my backside. I said, "well if someone would clean the tables we wouldn't be having this issue". I didn't know our waitress Taylor was right behind me and she said, " we don't have a lot of people here." I said, " I don't care all of the tables are dirty and these things should be cleared after a guest leaves" she then said in a snotty tone, "I'll get right on that".... I could not believe her response. She was like this the entire night. Asking her to do anything was like asking a huge chore .....when it is her job. I will not be coming back and neither will my family.
Ps looks like the Bridge Bar needs to work on their customer service and...
Read moreRecently my husband and I stopped at The Bridge Bar for a drink while we're out riding. This is kind of a normal place for us to stop and rest. We generally sit at the outside bar and have a few drinks. This time, when we sat at the outside bar, it took us forever to get somebody to wait on us. I ordered a double Jack fire and coke. She prepared the drink right in front of me. She poured at least four shots of alcohol in this plastic cup and topped it with coke. Every drink we witnessed the bartenders make there were so heavy handed on alcohol, it's funny the bar is making any profit at all! As we looked around, we noticed how dirty it was behind the bar and how none of the bartenders ever stopped to wash their hands in between handling things. I'm amazed there are not more people getting sick from the cross-contamination happening at this bar! We watched them make a bloody Mary and the bartender who made it didn't wash her hands prior to making the garnish for the drink. She also dipped her hand in each of the condiment bins instead of using spoons or forks to get the items out of the bins prior to putting on...
