Elsie's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Fremont

In a professional review I can give Elsies Ice Cream 4 stars, HOWEVER, it is my personal opinion that they only receive 2.5 based on my experiences here today.

For atmosphere and general feel it receives 1 star, although it has a very familiar if not over done car shop/auto theme, they do have a catches the eye feel, this let's you k ow you have reached your destination

For ease of access and parking they will receive their 2nd star, although limited curbside parking they are placed conveniently across from a free public parking area, making driving in a breeze.

For the product in question, 1 star is also given. I could rate the food separately out of 5 however it wouldn't fit on the scale from total experience being out of 5 which is all Google let's you do. The ice cream just looking at is a treat to the eyes, with phenomenal presentation in the crazy shakes, it is with out a doubt a something amazing. Yet familiar to a similar ice cream shop I have reviewed in the past.

Cost, $ being cheap, and $$$$$ being expensive, I'd rate $$($). This is touch and go for me personally as what I ordered did take both time and had a lot of flare, however looking over the total menu, I can give them 1 star as most of the cost appears mild at best.

Finally the worst part of the experience for me. No stars for, CUSTOMER SERVICE.(this next part gets personal).

I understand the difficulty behind customer service and I wouldn't bw negative as I typically say my experience is good or average; however, this was truly the low point of my entire experience. When I first approached, my impression was that the staff was aware of their menu and would know what it was that I was asking for, they did not. You can forgive someone for not knowing if the items on the menu are new. Additionally as summer has just started, new staff are pretty typical at the starting points and may yet not be familiar with the menu. The language the staff used however appears to be put them off for requesting the specials and were looking to dismiss the request, however the senior staff member stated they could make the request but only after some debate. My next concern came with the release of the items. When orders were coming out of the service window it was based on ease of making, not order received. So people behind me were being served first. One customer had ordered 1 of the 3 items I had and we were both waiting for some time, now you think that an entire order would come out at the same time, but here that is not the case, it is 1 cone/shake at a time, which for ice cream is bad. This means everyone in your party cannot enjoy theirnorder at the same time as everyone else. Now because of this concern the customer behind me had jumped in front and grabbed my order confusing it for his own. When I asked why this happened the server shrugged and gestured me to wait behind the line until they were able to eventually finish the order. From start to finish 30 minutes, for a small weekend crowd of approx 10 to 15. I know inhave reviewed a similar ice cream shop outside of the Lansing/Hastings area, they have a very similar approach on their specials, so the next time I'm craving for this style, I am willing to attempt a second time as most places deserve a second chance, as they are closer. If my experience remains unchanged however, I'd rather drive the extra distance and enjoy my time out rather than be put off in the manor that...

Mixed up my first order, then when i pointed out i ordered it in a cup (my icecream in a cup) the girl just slammed it into a cup upside down and shoved it towards me. For my daughters simple icream cone, another girl ignored her and waited 10 mins before handing it to her (they werent busy)

Also, I ordered a small and my girl asked for a large. Meaning I paid a higher price for the order. But the girls gave us the same measley service. They were agruing the entire time inside too and didnt clean their hands at all. One went through some cash then touched someones food. We tried to be as polite as possible though.

Unprofessional. Unclean. Rude and unorganized. Not coming back again and will share this info to others so they don't come and waste their time either....

Please update your menu to reflect that VERY limited food menu you have. The food menu looked delicious and me and my family went there to get dinner and a little ice cream. After doing my research and finding the menu on the website and no social media posts that there was limited menu items we made our way over to drive there only to find out there was only 4 things on the food menu. We ordered the pretzel sticks and they were cold on the inside and we ordered the pulled pork only for the worker gave a look because she thought they were out (which in turn took their food menu down to one 3 items). We have tried to come here multiple multiple times and every time we are disappointed. We for sure will not...
