Edited~ 5 months later we decided to give it another shot. I was hesitant but we figured since we found our old waiter is now manager at scarpettas, we figured we wouldn’t have him as a waiter here. So this time, our waitress was Stephanie, and she was fantastic. After we realized we had a good waitress, we thanked her for her attentiveness and pleasant attitude with us and shared our previous experience with her. She was apologetic and told us we could ask for her next time we come in. I couldn’t believe how attentive she was with refilling our drinks and checking on us, we didn’t feel ignored this time. She is a great waitress and because of her, and the other waiter not being there, we will be back. Thank you Stephanie! I have changed our 1 star review to 4 stars.
We were excited to visit a second time, as we had a great experience with excellent food the first time. The second time, the service was awful. Our waiter walked passed our table several times to check on his other tables who ordered alcohol. We requested water and silverware and waited 15 mins while our food got cold while he was behind the bar making drinks. To add to the previous review, our French onion soup was also served in a bowl and the menu states served in an onion. It would have been one thing to wait over an hour for our food to come had our waiter acknowledged and apologized for the long wait and kept up with checking on us, but to ignore us because we did not purchase alcohol was wrong and cost them our future business. Generally we tip very well, weather we order drinks or not. That should not warrant weather we receive good service. We reached out via email but received no reply. Poor customer service, take your business elsewhere where you’ll feel appreciated for...
Read moreOverall unsatisfied with my experience. The mens room had no paper towels. We informed and when I went after I ate OVER an hour later still none so I went to the old guy manager and he dismissed me. It took over 40 minutes to serve our food after ordering. The cowboy steak is 36 dollars for a 14oz bone in ribeye since they don't tell that upfront. Which is quite expensive. I was told the ribeye was very tender however my guests had to tell them rare to get a medium rare cooked steak. The steaks are also not seasoned at all. I requested the NY strip. Waitress waited almost 15 minutes after I ordered to tell me They're out of the strip so I got a burger with no onion, my burger had onion on it and one small glob of mayonnaise that didn't cover the top bun at all after attempting to spread it. The waitress had absolutely zero knowledge of the store and its food. As she left my table multiple times to get the answers to simple questions. The onion rings taste like the light brown bread from chexmix. The burger taste like it had imitation cheese not real cheese. So to clarify I payed 115 dollars for: 2 improperly cooked bone-in steaks weighing a total of 28 Oz before cooking 2 grilled cheese w/side 1 improperly made double cheese burger with a lack of mayo and unrequested onions. My wifes steak and potatoes were already dry and cold by time it got to my table to eat it. But hey my burger was cooked to temp. I will never go here again and will not recommend this to my friends. In fact I will make sure to specify not to come to the garrison. For the atmosphere and prices on the food I expected so much more out of this company. And I was entirely...
Read moreWe had to take a detour to Green Springs and decided to find a place in Fremont Ohio, to eat at, we hadn't been before
The Garrison offered a great menu but we hardly expected how beautiful the place would be. An Industrial type theme with a black and crystal lamp combination. Look at the pics.
A warm welcome when we walked in. We immediately were excited to be here.
We started with the fried buckeye bites, a deep fried pretzel nugget. Warm and chewy bites dipped in warm cheese sauce. Delicious.
I ordered the Black and Blue burger with bacon, garlic aioli and blue cheese crumbles on a brioche bun. The burgers are brought in - pattied up and thick. It needed some seasoning but the aoli and blue cheese gave it a depth of flavor it needed. The french fries were presented in a cone cup featuring the theme style of the restaurant. They were very good, well seasoned and had a light crunch.
My husband got the Garrison burger with cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato and aioli on brioche and was enjoyable. He opted to get the onion rings for an extra $2.00.
Just look at those rings..they were big, however because they were battered (bought in as well and frozen) they really hung on to the grease. They had a horseradish dipping sauce that was good and mildly spicy. You see there were only 3 rings. I would not reccomend over the fries.
The service was excellent. Our wait staff refilled my fountain pop 4 times..all with a smile.
Both the womens and mens room offered handicap seating and were very nice. Wheel chair accessible.
A thumbs up. Next time I am going...
