Me n Ed's Pizza, a place that seems to thrive more on nostalgia than on culinary merit, leaves much to be desired for anyone seeking a truly remarkable pizza experience. The sentimental value cannot be denied; it's the kind of establishment your parents might have chosen for its "superiority" over the likes of Costco's offerings, hoping to instill a sense of dining refinement. However, the reality falls short of such aspirations.
The pizza itself could be described as overrated. It doesn't quite hit the mark when it comes to meeting the expectations set by its storied reputation. For those of us in search of a pizza that delights the palate and satisfies our cravings, the search continues elsewhere. In a surprising turn, the frozen aisles of a grocery store offering DiGiorno might hold more promise for a fulfilling meal.
That being said, Me n Ed's does have its redeeming qualities, particularly in an unexpected area: their ranch. The ranch dressing is Devine It's the kind of condiment that could almost make you forget the pizza's shortcomings, compelling enough to warrant a visit on its own. In fact, the ranch is the sole reason for my occasional patronage, though my pizza loyalty lies firmly with Mountain Mike's, where the overall experience aligns more closely with my tastes.
In summary, while Me n Ed's Pizza might hold a special place in the hearts of those with fond memories of family meals past, it might not stand up to the scrutiny of those seeking culinary excellence in their pizza. The exceptional ranch dressing, however, is a notable exception and perhaps a reminder that sometimes, it's the small things that keep us...
Read moreSo my boyfriend has bragged about this place to me since a year ago when we met. I'm from San Diego so I've never been, he finally takes me n some of the staff acted like we were bothering them. I asked a man, who gave me a head gesture like what's up,so I asked may I please have 3 more cups because mine had fallen on the floor under my booth, n he nudged the guy standing next to him n so he walks over to me n says what did u need n I repeated my question n he gave me a look like he was dumbfounded as to why I needed new cups or like if I was inconveniencing him cuz he paused after I asked him before he even moved to grab the cups. Then my daughter asked if the air hockey table worked n the female staff member said idk with all those arcade games u play at your own risk, my daughter asked me what'd she mean by that I told her basically that if the machines eat ur quarters they're not replacing them for u. Also we had to ask for plates to b able to eat. I was a manager for papa John's in San Diego n I loved my job n we held our customer service to a very high standard. The employees didn't look happy to b working so it made the environment uncomfortable. The staff could've made all the difference in the atmosphere of the place had their attitudes n energy been more positive n upbeat or has they at least...
Read moreI haven't been here in awhile due to being charged 50 bucks for a combo, a large pep, and 3 ranch and 3 jal, but today was ridiculous. The whole entire inside of the restaurant was filthy. If you look at any lamp in the arcade area, you could see 10 pounds of dust and even see the dust float around. The lamps bulbs were so covered in dust that even on and you couldn't tell they were on. Then the fun started. I understand that they were busy, but they had kids doing everything in their power to destroy the arcade machines and be rude S they could. And I repeat, I understand they were busy, with a 1 hour wait time after our 25 min wait time. But they could have had an employee tell the mom something. This place seriously went downhill since the beginning of the pandemic, but this was ridiculous. I won't be the only one ever going back or even dinning inside because this was a failure. Also there were a lot of problems with the employees from not knowing what to do exactly or from people just not doing certain tasks. The pizza was the same as always, but you guys seriously need to...
