Monarch Pastries and Coffee House — Restaurant in Friendswood

SO STOKED to finally have a coffee-forward shop in the area. I prefer coffee with a hint of sweetness, and that’s exactly what Monarch offers. Their syrups being house made is just another huge bonus. The location is convenient, and the interior of the shop is gorgeous. The owners are precious. You can tell they’re so proud - understandably so! We loved it so much we went two days in a row.

I also love the unique flavors of syrups that are offered, as well as their signature drinks. Makes ordering easy since there are suggestions to pick from. The cold brew, latte, and matcha were all delicious. We tried the pumpkin scone and it was great. Not too sweet, so it was perfect for breakfast. So so happy to have this gem of a spot in our corner...

Love it here! I spent a few hours working and it’s very quiet and cozy. They do coffee right! It’s not flooded with intense artificial tasting flavors, rather subtle balanced sweetness and good espresso you can actually taste. The specialty latte menu is so good! I had the cherry vanilla chocolate latte and I was initially concerned it would be overpowered with all those flavors but it was subtle and perfect! A much needed gem of a coffee shop in the suburbs! Victoria was super sweet...

Their chai tea is the best I’ve had in a very long time. It’s spicy, not too sweet, but of course you can add more sweetener if you’d like, but extremely good. I was in a hurry so I didn’t have a chance to try any of their pastries, but they looked good. My only complaint is, I’ve tried back twice and discovering that they close at 4 PM if they stayed open later, they get a lot more business for me because It was truly...
