UPDATE 9/17/2024:
I have lost count as to how many times Mom and I have patronized this establishment, but suffice it to say that the Food, Service, and Ambiance here is consistent - it is clear that high-quality ingredients are being used to create those Egg White Omelets(who can forget the Turkey Bacon?), Scrambled Egg Whites, and Fluffy Chocolate Chip Pancakes we speak so highly of and have grown to love. When a pancake is too gummy(I have experienced this at other places), you can tell right away, but that is not the case here!
Adan is the best! He is our server every time we visit and is very receptive to our needs. Everyone else we encounter on every single visit is kind and attentive. My Mom decided to try something different from the Chicken Florentine Crepe on this visit , so she ordered an Egg White Omelet with Tomatoes and Spinach, a side of Grits, and a Biscuit. She has decided to make this her go-to dish from now on.
We look forward to several more visits in the future. ———————————— UPDATE: 12/8/2023 Stopped by on Friday morning, December 8th, 2023 for my 40th birthday and had the BEST time! This is our third visit to Cracked & Crepe and we were greeted with a smile upon entering, as usual, by Adan and Heidi, who were there to ensure we had all we needed during our meal. Started things off with hot tea. If you have not had chocolate chip pancakes here, then you are missing out. Just my opinion - your taste and experience may be different. I thought the Strawberry Nutella Pancakes with a side of sliced bananas were a nice touch to make my day even more special. Mom had the Chicken Florentine Crepe and Fries and said it was delicious! Unfortunately, I am severely allergic to mushrooms or else I would have tried it. I even got to speak with the owner, Kevin - on our way out. It is clear that he truly cares. In our three visits, he has been visible in every aspect of the operation of the establishment- including engaging in conversation with customers. The Customer service, food, service, and ambiance here are absolutely 5 stars. Definitely our regular breakfast place going forward. We will see you again soon! ————————————————————————— Our breakfast experience was flawless from start to finish. Mom and I were immediately greeted, seated, and handed menus by Adan. He provided service with a smile and engaged in conversation. As a first time visitor, I felt welcome and will definitely return based on his professional work ethic. It was a nice way to start off the week. I am so glad that we timed it on a weekday so that we weren’t arriving around a peak weekend rush. I hear it can get pretty packed.
The clean aura and positive vibes can be felt throughout this establishment. Furthermore, the fresh, modern, intimate space is delightfully adorned to achieve an upscale vibe. I understand that Imura Sushi & Robata next door is also operated by the same owner. On a side note, the food there is also phenomenal, so if you have not stopped in yet, you are missing out. The wasabi, eel, and rice vinegar are true standouts and deserve a standing ovation simply due to their high quality.
Our server Heidi was very kind and sweet and had our hot tea ready in five minutes and food to the table in under 15 minutes. Mom ordered the Chicken Florentine Crepe with a side of Hollandaise sauce and I ordered the stack of 3 Buttermilk Pancakes with a side of Bananas and Strawberries (which we both had to box up to take home). Also shared an order of home fries which were hot, perfectly seasoned and crispy, and perfect for two to share. All excellent! Arrived at the table hot off the griddle and perfectly cooked with that signature traditional flavor. We will be returning to try one of the...
Read moreAll restaurants serving breakfast in the Plano/Frisco area are always busy on weekends. Go early or wait for a table. The later you arrive, the longer the wait. Cracked & Crepe is no different. This was our first visit.
Cracked & Crepe serves breakfast and lunch from 7am-3pm. I didn't mind the wait. The decor is fresh and vibrant. A five foot wall divides the main dining with seating at the bar. The atmosphere was pleasant and surprisingly quiet due to the tall open ceiling throughout the main dining area. We used our wait time to check out the big menu and decide our order. Once seated, we did not wait long to be greeted at the table and immediately placed our order. The wait staff is friendly and very efficient. Even the food arrived after a reasonable amount of time. Everything is great so far.
Did I mention they were very busy? It must have had a major impact on the quality of the food we were served. We stuck with the basic. Eggs for Cracked and Crepe for crepe. I had the vegetarian omelet with grits and sour dough toast. The grits were wonderful, but my sour dough bread was barely toasted and not hot enough to melt the refrigerated butter portion served with everything. My date, who loves crepes, and the main reason we tried it out, ordered scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, turkey apple sausage link, and a Crepe with a side of strawberries. All the egg dishes were overcooked, leaving my omelet dry and tasteless. We had to return the Crepe due to it being very overcooked. The new one was void of texture and flavor. It made me start observing other customers' orders around me. It was very apparent that their eggs and omelets were overcooked, too. My suggestion: Their cooks need more training in the kitchen to properly cook eggs when their busy.
My final bill for two entrees and one iced tea: $37, including a $6 tips. (It's not the waitress fault. They didn't cook the meal.)
To only be fair, they do have a very extensive lunch menu, too. I might give it a try sometime. In the meantime, I'll continue to make breakfast with eggs to order for my family and friends at...
Read moreI understand lunch rush can be hectic, but the service was abysmal. Granted, our group was large with roughly 9 people, so the drinks weren't an issue when they had a somewhat long time to come out, yet when it came to orders, they took much longer than expected. In this time, another large family near us seemed to voice similar concerns regarding relatively neglectful and extended waiting for service. Probably took almost an hour for most of the dishes to come out, and even when they brought out the majority, they missed/delayed the other 3 meals by 20 more minutes. Which was interesting because my sister ordered the same meal as me and received it, yet mine was nowhere to be found. This is also not to mention that before hers got to our table, they mistakenly brought it to the wrong table along with other items we ordered. Despite this, I waited, and so did my brother for his meal, which he ordered only oatmeal. Yet after the said 20 minutes, when they brought one more meal, they also disclosed to my brother they did not have oats available. The disclosure isn't the problem, but rather the fact that they likely did not get to working on his meal until they figured out they did not have oats. Which makes sense since many other tables would receive their orders ahead of ours despite coming in to eat much later. Ultimately, we had to cancel 2 meals (the ones that did not show up) and stayed in the restaurant around an hr and 30 minutes. While the service was erroneous, the food and atmosphere were enjoyable. For smaller groups, this place will accommodate you, but if you are a larger group, do not expect...
