One sentence: No match with Desi District Irving.
It seems desi district is just opening new locations in hurry. They have no control over the taste and quality of food served at new locations.
There are just too many problems. Food serving problems can be fixed but i am skeptical about food taste.
We love going to Desi District Irving (4+ visits) location and it has not turned us down on taste and freshness even once.
All other desi district locations like Frisco and McKinney have disappointed every single time.
McKinney location does not even knew what dal makhni is even when it is printed on their menu. In our second visit (take away order), they packed absolutely burnt Dosa.
Food serving: They serve the order in bits and pieces. That's fine unless you forget to fulfill whole order. They do forget.
Do match items with receipt. Count your naan's with the order too :).
On a busy day like Friday evening, they are not able to handle orders. Too much waiting. They serve naan and then you may keep waiting for other portion of the order while naan's lose their warmth.
What we tried: Dal Makhni Butter Chicken Garlic Naan Butter Naan Rice Idli Dahi poori
Food taste: Dal Makhni was extra salty and sambar had less salt. Also, it seems that Dal Makhni does not sell much as it was too thick and felt like a little stale. Naan's were made fresh but no consideration given to our request of making them crispy. It seems they don't care. Dahi poori was served soggy. We did complain and they remade it. So, that's fine. They heard us there. Butter chicken gravy was half cooked even when it was served after couple of reminders and almost 40 minutes late. Naan's were already cold by that time and we had no hunger left. We had to throw it finally.
Pricing: We spent about $49 on family of 3 and above mentioned order. Price is decent and not expensive.
Cleanliness: 2.5/5 - can do better. The floor was sticky everywhere. If you understand what I mean, then you will feel the stickiness when you walk. This gives a feeling that they don't clean it often.
Will I visit again: No
The whole experience was not the one that we were looking for. Its a new location and needs lot of work.
As a matter of fact, 90% of desi restaurants in the US do not care about serving the whole order at the same time for members of the group (which is a norm in American...

Taste - 3/5. Quantity - 3/5. Quality - 4/5. Value for Money: - 2/5. Service - 1/5. Hygiene - 3/5. Cleanliness - 3/5. Ambiance- 3/5. Overall- 2/5.
— It was my first experience to this Desi District, Frisco. I hope my experience will help you. But when i steeped into this restaurant it was fully occcupied with over crowd. It took me 10 minutes To give the order and it took 30+ minutes to get the order.
— I ordered Bahubali Mandi. It came with 2 chicken leg pieces, Juicy mutton , Fish piece, Prawns pieces.
— Biryani Bliss: Let's start with the star of the show - the Bahubali Mandi. The flavorful rice was cooked to perfection, with each grain distinct and fluffy. The chicken pieces were juicy and tender, and the prawns were a delightful surprise, bursting with freshness. But the real MVP was the mutton gravy. One piece was a tad dry, but the other was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, packed with rich spices. Fish is completely left. I didn’t like it. Quantity alert! This Mandi is enough to feed 4-5 people easily, making it a steal for the price.
— Gravy Mishap: The accompanying gravy and curd were underwhelming. They lacked flavor and were served in tiny portions, barely enough for the generous Mandi. Definitely not enough to satisfy the taste buds or complement the richness of the dish.
— The prices Is expensive because they are providing only few pieces and Small quantity of Raita and gravy.
— Service Scramble: Brace yourself for a bustling atmosphere. Finding a seat was a challenge, and ordering took a painful 10 minutes. The wait for the food itself stretched to over 30 minutes, which put a damper on the experience. Plus, it's self-service only, so be prepared to hustle.
— Cleanliness Concerns: While the ambiance was vibrant and lively, hygiene wasn't a top priority.
— Overall: Desi District offers a tastebud-tantalizing Mandi experience, especially for the price and quantity. However, be prepared for a crowded, self-service environment with long waits and minor cleanliness issues and if you're adventurous and crave a flavor-packed Mandi, Desi District is worth a try (just manage your expectations and bring your...

I typically don't write reviews, but the situation I encountered at Desi District (Frisco) was so concerning that I felt it necessary to inform others. I purchased a 2lb chicken from the store, only to discover that it was both very stinky and had been labeled twice. Naturally, I decided to return it to the store.
Upon reaching the store, our intention was to inform the manager about the expired and foul-smelling chicken. We wanted to understand how such a product could be stocked in the first place. However, the manager's response left me in disbelief. He dismissively replied, "The chicken will be like this only, buy if you want or it's your choice!" While it is definitely my choice whether to make a purchase or not, it is not ethical to sell expired/foul-smelling items.
I must caution others to beware of this store, as this is not the first time I have heard about such incidents involving Desi District. Unfortunately, this was the first time I experienced it firsthand. The manager's attitude towards this situation only added to my disappointment. His rudeness and lack of respect towards me as a customer were unacceptable. I have no intention of returning to this store. Living in Texas, I am fortunate to have numerous alternative options available to me. If this store continues to operate in such a manner, and if the manager treats every customer with the same disrespect, I have no doubt that Desi District will lose many loyal customers.
I urge anyone considering purchasing goods from this desi district to avoid this place unless they want to get hospitalized.
Desi District is just an option for us, but it is by no means a necessity. It is important that the manager realizes this before the store goes out...
