Do not recommend for people with service animals, had a terrible experience with an uneducated manager in this regard today on 3/26/22. We entered the establishment around 8 for breakfast with the parrot, zero inquires were made so we assumed it was fine. We then had a strange encounter to getting seated, we were lead back to a table that was filthy, left to stand in the aisle with nothing to do and they eventually came and half cleaned the table. The previous occupants had left maple syrup smeared on table, seat and floor along w fruit and trash left under the table. Upon seeing this we asked for further cleaning and eventually got sat, with the parrot and proceeded with zero problems ordering and eating. At the end of the meal, we've already paid and are standing up to leave/put on coats and some female manager rushes over to the table and does not ask the ADA required questions for determining a service animal or make any inquires. But in a combative and confronting tone tells us we have to leave and emphasizes way too manny times with a snide voice animals are not allowed. We were allowed no quarter to speak so we continued gathering our belongings as she proceeds to in our view go over to a server booth and in a loud voice berate us to several waiters, in front of other occupants. At this point it's upsetting but I choose to just quietly leave to find as we turn the corner to walk out the door this manager is on our tails, with a haughty look on her face basically staring us down. We ended up getting in an argument as this lady, being uneducated on what a service animal is, ADA requirements or asking us anything says the owners called her and demanded we leave unless we can produce paperwork. By ADA rules, you CANNOT ask for documentation, you're allowed to ask two questions. I try explaining this to which she just continues being unprofessional and not even looking up the requirements. She proceeds to tell me they allow service animals as they have had numerous owners bring in paperwork.... this just tells me you've allowed regular animals in your establishment as there is NO regulatory authority appointed by the ADA to police this. These people are literally printing off any paperwork you can find and you accept it. But treat us terribly and won't even listen. Educate yourselves and parrots are service animals. A simple Google search would tell you all of these things and lead you to the ADA website that lays it out. I will never do business here again due to this manager and the unprofessional way it...
Read moreI had no idea what to expect when we decided to try the Shack today. Let me tell you, The writing's on the wall. It's awesome!Wow...where to start? I know... come early! This place is busy and there is a wait and for several good reasons. (The food, the staff, and the atmosphere) The good news is that there is a large waiting area where they have coffee and lemon water available while you wait, and they seem to get through the list quickly. You can even skip the line and sit at the bar (first come first serve) if seats are available.
They could easily squeeze the tables together and add a few more tables to seat people faster. They obviously chose to give their patrons enough space to be comfort. I appreciated not being part of other tables conversations. Which is how I typically feel at trendy places...squeeeezed.
They don't skimp on staff either. There are lots of them and from what I experienced, the culture here seems to foster people who care about the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the service. Lynsey was our server today and she easily accomodated our requests, saw to our needs, and gave me a genuine and fabulous recomendation. As I usually like to do, I asked her about her favorites here and why. When I get genuine or passionate answer, I'll go with their suggestion. Nice call Lynsey!
The menu here is inspired! Nothing is business as usually, nothing boring. I honestly wanted to try everything. Lastly, the menu is reasonably priced. I'm pretty sure I've paid more at Ihop.
The menu, staff, and atmosphere not only create a trendy/foodie feel, they've also managed make this a great place to take a family with young kids. They've got it all.
Put the Shack or Shacks on your list. I certainly plan to come back and also try the...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times and have had great service/food. Today was my last time there. The hostess was SO rude when we walked in. She asked how many, I said there’s two of us, and with the BIGGEST attitude said, “well there’s a 40 minute wait at minimum.” I told her I put myself on the waitlist online and she said, “oh .. well .. what’s the name?”
I asked if we could sit at the bar since there were two seats available. She was rude yet again about that. The bar service was unfortunately awful. There was a gal with glasses that was pretty pleasant, but the other bartender was very rude. Having been in the service industry myself for years, I was shocked at how poor her service was at an establishment like this.
My partner asked for smoked turkey on her sandwich instead of pork. Smoked turkey is listed as a breakfast meat for omelets and when we asked to have that on the sandwich instead, the bartender was SO rude. Rolled her eyes and said, “I’ll ask.” Her sandwich came out wrong anyway but we didn’t say anything because the service was so bad.
We were going to grab another drink while we were sitting there but when she came around, she said, “one check or two?” We weren’t even done eating, so I just asked for a to go box instead of ordering another cocktail since she was seemingly rushing us.
The bathroom was so filthy. I didn’t feel comfortable using it so I just washed my...
