Asian Wok — Restaurant in Fulshear

PORTION sizes are VERY SMALL for the $$$ you are paying. Food was decent (my husband liked the fried rice) however we have Houston taste buds and I was kinda disappointed. Service is GREAT and food arrived QUICKLY! I placed an online order and had to go back for missing items - However, they were VERY NICE and accommodating when I brought this to their attention. No Fortune Cookies?? Small gesture but a small take away from the Chinese Cuisine experience.

My recommendations: Please adjust your portion sizes to match your prices, I paid a lot of money for very little food. After seeing what I paid vs. what I received I was completely annoyed and knew immediately I needed to leave this review. Additionally, driving back for missing items not only ruined a hot meal but also cost me additional gas on top of the small portioned over priced meal I just bought. Was dinner here a letdown? Did the chicken fried rice seem greasy and clumpy, with sparse, dry chicken? Could the sweet and sour chicken’s sauce have been overly sugary, almost like ketchup, with rubbery meat? Was the orange chicken’s coating syrupy, lacking citrus, with soggy breading? Did the wonton soup’s broth taste murky, salty, with a metallic hint, and were the wontons mushy? Were the dumplings with doughy wrappers and bland filling?

Why didn’t the menu prices match the online ones? Did the staff dismiss questions about the discrepancy, claiming outdated online prices without apology?

Did everyone feel bloated and unwell after eating? Could the greasy, heavy food have caused nausea and discomfort? Was the food quality questionable enough to make you wonder about its freshness?

I LOVE Asian Wok. I have ordered the black pepper beef, crab puff, walnut shrimp, and combination fried rice. I've ordered it all a few times to-go. It's very fresh and portion sizes are large (I get three to four meals out of each main dish).

When you order online, you have to specifically request condiments and utensils. They also have a section to select allergies and a place to write notes. In order to do this:

1. Put items in the cart.
2. Tap "view order".
3. Tap "checkout".
4. Scroll to the very bottom, and you can make your selections.

I am pretty sure it was user error with those who didn't get utensils and condiments and not Asian Wok's fault. I have ordered to-go six times, and they have always gotten everything correct. They even got my specific notes on the black pepper beef to add extra veggies but not extra jalapeños correct (I'm a wimp when it comes to spice. Ha!).
