This is a tough review. I want to start with what works. The atmosphere was ideal. Great crowd, and the service was exceptional, and so was our waitress. The owner stopped by and greeted us, and our waitress checked in on us regularly. The food came out in a timely manner, and the price points were incredibly affordable. With that being said, the quality of the food is mediocre at best and / or unedible. For $100, we ordered the 38.00 appetizer platter, which was quite abundant, with no drinks, just iced waters, x2 soups, a salad, and a pasta for a total of 3 people. Let's start with the water 💧 which had an unpleasant distinct taste 🤢. The appetizer platter was mediocre and priced incredibly affordably for what you get. The ceviche was underwhelming, and the calamari was rubbery. The rest of the platter was decent but nothing to BRAG about. We ordered x2 soups, the lobster bisque bowl, and the gumbo bowl. The bowls are very large sizes, and the prices were incredibly affordable for only $12. The lobster bisque was decent and fulfilling, and it did the job, but it wasn't anything spectacular. As for the Gumbo, we had to return it because it was unedible. Extremely salty to the point of bitterness. We had it exchanged for the clam showder, and it was bad. It had too much cream and little to no flavor at all. The pasta was bland and simply unpleasant. It came with a side salad, which was a simple salad and a piece of garlic toast, and pasta was topped with Parmisian cheese, which is a big no-no when serving pasta with seafood. As for the shrimp crab bacon salad 🤮 as large and abundant, I could not eat it. The shrimp was not cooked and taste liked the ocean. It was an awful salad with generic ingredients and nothing spectacular. I had envisioned that the shrimp would have been grilled and maybe a recommended dressing that would enhance the flavors and create a story to the plate, and you simply get to choose your option of 10 dressings. We left incredibly underwhelmed, and outside of the appetizer platter and lobster bisque, we left everything barely touched. You are paying for basic ingredients and inexperienced cooks doing the bare minimum to simply serve an abundant dish. The biggest setback is their cook staff. They need a new chef and / or cooking staff. This place has so much potential in the hands of a better kitchen staff.

Absolutely outstanding! Pier 36 Seafood & Oyster Bar delivers a five-star experience from start to finish. The seafood is always fresh and perfectly prepared—whether you’re craving oysters on the half shell, crispy fried shrimp, or blackened catfish, every bite is a true taste sensation. The menu is extensive, offering something for every seafood lover, and even non-seafood fans will find delicious options like the ribeye steak and baked potato. The service is exceptional—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff go above and beyond to make sure your meal is perfect. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, ideal for anything from a family dinner to a special celebration or a relaxed evening with friends. Standout favorites include the crawfish (the seasoning is spot on), the house-made cilantro dressing, and the fresh, flavorful crab cakes. Even when the restaurant is busy, the team handles everything smoothly, making large parties and special occasions feel effortless. Pier 36 is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. From the quality of the food to the genuine hospitality, it’s a true gem in the Richmond and Fulshear area. Highly recommended—don’t miss out on this local favorite!

The service was exceptional; our waiter was extremely helpful and well-trained, and the floor manager personally checked on us to ensure everything was perfect. They also made an effort to accommodate us by moving us to a more preferred area of the restaurant, which greatly enhanced our dining experience. They could also focus on enhancing the quality of their cocktails. However, the menu felt a bit overwhelming due to its extensive options. It was challenging to navigate because there were just too many choices. While the food was good, it seemed a bit outdated in taste and presentation. I feel it would be more impactful to have a smaller menu featuring modern classics. A more focused selection could highlight the chef's best creations and make decision-making easier for guests. In conclusion, the restaurant offers excellent service and a great atmosphere. With some updates to the menu to streamline and modernize it, this place could become a top choice for diners looking for a memorable culinary experience.

I have never had such a miserable dining experience in my life. I made a reservation prior, and upon arrival they couldn’t find it. Once we were sat, the nightmare continued. Simple beverage orders took forever, took even longer for the drinks to come to the table. Alcoholic beverages were only served after the bartender came over and asked my mom and nephew if they would mind moving so she could get a bottle of wine from the above head storage. My brother, being sarcastic, told her “only if you can get our beer to the table.” She promptly returned with the Shiner and Karbach that was ordered.

There was live music playing, which was nice, but it couldn’t be heard over the obscenely loud and inappropriate guests at the next table. They were obviously locals, based on the local high school attire they were wearing, and were having conversations that were wildly inappropriate for a nice, family restaurant. Their kids would sporadically pop in from a side door, stand around crowding our table, then leave. While the moms and dads sucked back more Miller lite, the became even louder. I was mortified at the conversations that could be heard as my 8 year old nephew sat to the left of me.

After about 30 minutes, the waitress took our order... yes, that’s right 30 minutes before a food order was taken. None of us had complicated orders, and honestly it all wound up being some type of fried seafood. It took an additional 30 minutes for the food to be served. In the mean time, we watched as 2 other tables that had been sat after us received their meals before us.

At this point I was irritated, and went to speak to a supervisor. While the woman was nice enough, I don’t think there was anything she could do. She sent out who I can only assume was the GM of the restaurant. He immediately began speaking to my mother, who quickly informed him that he needed to be speaking to me as my husband and I were treating the family to dinner. He responded with “it’s the same thing I just told you”. While this man was at our table, Becky and Karen at the next table started screaming at their children who had once again magically appeared out of the side door. Key panic attack setting in. The GM dude then says “I can’t reprimand a child” to which I reply “that wasn’t the child, it was the adult, screaming in my ear, and making for a miserable dining experience”. He still did nothing. I had to leave the restaurant to keep from having to take a Xanax.

I have been to the Richmond location, and the food was amazing. This location, however, was atrocious. My brothers oysters had shell all over the place, my mom described her Shrimp Isabella as a few shrimp swimming in an instant country gravy mix, and the seafood fondue we ordered as an appetizer had zero flavor.

You would think that would be the end of the experience, but you’d be wrong. This morning both my husband and I have had tummy trouble. So much so that as a 37 year old woman, for the first time in my life I had a #morethanafart experience.

Ultimately, the GM dude discounted our ticket by 25%, which we did not ask for. Please note, I don’t expect a discount on dining, I expect a pleasant dining experience. My husband paid the bill, and we went along with our evening.

Thank you for making an evening meant to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday with my brother and nephews who flew into town to celebrate a...

We were finally able to get a sitter for our kiddos and my husband has been wanting to try out the Fulshear location for quite some time. Upon arrival, we were seated right away. Our server seemed a little off but we brushed it off as maybe she was new and in training and we've all been there. Upon ordering just two waters, she came out with them on a tray and spilled them all over me, our table and my new $250 purse. Immediately she went and grabbed some bar rags from the kitchen and as I was trying to catch the water with menus she blurted out "I'm so freaking sorry" as I rushed to save my personal and work phones and my purse from the monsoon of water. There was no genuine sincerity in her voice but we told her it was okay and hoped for a better night. Service from there went completely downhill and it would take our waitress several minutes to come back around for anything. We ordered a couple of bar drinks and they were so bitter and disgusting we couldn't finish them. Not to mention employees kept walking by and they left the soaking wet bar rags sitting on our table as we were eating. There were two managers there who never apologized and offered to make things right as I was sitting there drenched in ice water. We own our own business and as a manager myself their actions were completely unacceptable.

We had the worse experience here and we will be sharing with our friends and family. Worst overpriced $61 date...
