Hardee’s — Restaurant in Fuquay-Varina

Food quality is inconsistent. Sides are barely warm on multiple occasions and the cleanliness is hit or miss. Probably better off avoiding this place until they get good management

Update: Lowering to one star. Still horrible. And now add slow drive thru service. I’m the only person in line. Burger and fries ordered. Nothing special. Set my timer for 5 minutes and decided they can keep my $. Never coming back.

Update 07/19.22: Could it be? Did they get the memo that they need to improve? I just had a 5-star experience. Today at lunch I decided to give them my yearly try. Went through the drive thru with three cars ahead of me. 4 minutes later, I have food in hand, it's all hot and made to order. Fries were crispy and tasted great. Chicken sandwich was perfect.

Do they have new management? Was this just a fluke? Time will tell. Every time I have good experience I will add more starts to my original 1-star review. They are up to three now. You can do it Hardees! I believe in you. You got this.

Update 07/20/22: It was a fluke. They still suck! Tried to go for lunch today at 11:45am. Drive thru at a standstill and inside two people waiting for food. Folks working had no sense of urgency. Walked out. Oh well. Will give it another few months.

Update 08/15/24: Still horrible, but I finally found a good use this location. I cooked breakfast at home, but forgot to preheat the oven for biscuits. So I made the 4 minute drive to Hardees around 7:30AM and ordered 4 plain biscuits. Was fast because there was no one in line. The biscuits were hot, fresh and tasty. The only issue was the manager was blocking the drive-thru as she talked with a friend in their car. The language was R rated. Not that I care, but it was funny.

I ordered online thinking this would be quicker, easier, and more convenient. I was wrong. I hit the start my order button before leaving the house as we are only a few miles away.

Got there and was ignored for a few minutes listening to the cashier grumble about how she's not staying because the company doesn't appreciate their people. You know, common sense stuff that a customer SHOULDN'T hear. After a few minutes of being ignored I told her I had an online order to pick up. She couldn't find it so the shift leader had to tell her where to find it and then rolled her eyes in front of me.

The order was nowhere close to being ready after all this time. The cashier then goes back to bagging the order and then tells me that they haven't dropped the onion rings so it will be a few minutes while the rest of the order sits there getting cold. She brings me the bag. I look in it and the order was wrong. Big surprise there.

So then I'm waiting even longer for them to correct it. Then the icing on the cake....she hand me the drink carrier, it's missing a drink, and she couldn't tell me what she had there and what she was missing. NOT A CARE IN THE WORLD!!!

At this point I asked for a manager and my money back. She called a manager out and walked away without a care in the world. The manager ignored my request for the money back and handed me the missing drink with a casual and carefree apology. If I didn't have others waiting on the food I would have argued the point. Save your time and money and...

No gloves!

I love Hardee's. The Frisco burger is perhaps one of my favorite fast food burgers.

But this particular location....

When I went at 2:30 in afternoon, there were two employees working in the kitchen. I had ordered on the app, and I watched as the woman in back reached her hands into the bread bag to pull out the sourdough bread for the two burgers I ordered. No gloves. She then went on to touch everything else with her bare hands.

I work in food service. We've had people freak out about us touching the frozen fries before throwing them into 350° oil, which of course would kill any germs.

But this here..... She's touching the toasted bread, the bacon, and the burger. When the guy handed me my soda cups, he did so with his index finger inside the top cup.

This is unsanitary and disrespectful to the customers. I have complained about this location before and its poor practice of hiring people who don't seem to care much about their jobs.

The place is barely staying open as it is. I would love for the Hardee's to stick around, but they need to hire better people, maybe by increasing wages just a little bit to attract someone maybe a little more...
