If you order your pizza during off hours the experience will be decent generally, but this store does not have processes in place to ensure quality and consistency during peak times. On one occasion I stopped by for a carry out order on a busy Friday night. My order was not ready when I arrived so I was asked to wait in the "lobby" area and I would be called when it was ready. I waited patiently while several other customers entered, received their pizza and left. After I had waited for 20 minutes I had to push my way to the front of the crush of other customers who were also waiting on their orders and ask the single cashier to check if my order was ready. Sure enough, it had been sitting on the shelf for quite a while and had cooled off quite a bit during the wait. Last night we placed a plan ahead order at 3 PM to be delivered at 6:30 PM. At 7 PM we still had not received our order and started calling to try to determine what happened to our order. I was placed on hold for 10 minutes during my first call so I hung up and dialed back assuming I had been forgotten. After that all we got were busy signals for the next 15 minutes. When we finally got someone on the line, they explained that we should expect orders after 4:00 to take an hour and a half to be delivered! We placed the order 3 hours ahead of time so that you could PLAN AHEAD to have the delivery to us at the time we specified. Service 2/5 - You know as a Local Guide, let me start with the most obvious problem this place had. The incredibly rude customer service. Being put on hold and never heard from again. Waiting two hours for a pizza that was supposed to show an hour and a half earlier as promised.
For my more recent experiences, I tested my theory out while shopping for groceries at the Food Lion there in the same shopping center as the Papa Johns, a month back. I called from the parking lot to order 2 pizzas. The restaurant was empty. I watched the cashier (woman) immediately set her personal iphone down, bark into the receiver "Thanks for calling Papa Johns, can I put you on hold?"
I didn't even get to reply before she did so and put me on hold anyways. She goes into the back and comes back 5 minutes later and picks up her iphone, playing around on it. 3 minutes pass and I just hang up. Thats fine. No pizza for dinner.
Last night (12-2-16) I decided to avoid customer service issues all together. We ordered online. No rude hangup, no attitude. Just ordered our pizza from the internet and waited for it to arrive.
Price - 3/5. Two specialty pizzas. 1 brownie. $40. Does that sound fair to you?

Read morePizza from this location is usually prepared fast, accurate, & tasty. We always end up carrying out vs the convenience of delivery because it shaves about 30-45 minutes off the wait time. Carryout in 15 minutes with usually a deal or c/o special works for us, however we have received both burnt or under cooked crust frequently. *We ordered pizza on 1/08/2021 at 6:18pm. Again, this usually takes 15 minutes. The "Papa Track" said it would be ready in "33 to 43" minutes. Stuff happens sometimes... I understand that. What I don't understand is that you show up to pick up your hot pizza and find a whole bunch (8 other people!) of other angry people standing outside in the cold also wanting to get their pizza. No one from the store bothered to let everyone know that you could just go sit in your car because they hadn't even started making anyone's yet! No phone call, no note put up with "Papa Track" (if that isn't an option, it needs to be.) Finally, I called the store (with my husband in the mob outside) and was told it hadn't come out of the oven and would be 5-10+ more minutes & then it would be brought out.
