Bamboos — Restaurant in Gainesville

I ordered at 6:39 PM it is now 7:45 and I have received my order. As I was told by one of the workers there, when you call your order is taken by a third-party company who then transferred that order to the restaurant. The third-party company told me 30 minutes and when I arrived at the restaurant at 7:10 I was told it would be a couple more minutes but I went ahead and (stupidly) paid for my food. I came in a few minutes later and they told me it would be 20 more minutes. I Returned 20 minutes later and they gave me my food and then I spent 10 minutes having a conversation with them about getting at least a partial refund. The person who I think was the owner first offered a full refund if I gave the food back which I was now starving so I wasn’t going to let that happen. Then she wrote my phone number down on a piece of paper saying that next time I call she would give me $10 off. I was finally able to get $10 cash back. The food is all still hot so my only guess is that the third-party took their sweet time telling bamboos about the order or that bamboos was told of the order and forgot to cook it...

Due to Covid-19 it has been awhile since we went to Bamboos. Can't eat in, everything is carryout but that wasn't a problem. The food was fantastic! We tried their egg drop soup and it was so good! Very thick, just like homemade. Got our usual House Special fried rice, exceptional. Tried roast pork with snow peas. I will get that again, it was good! Hubby got his sweet and sour pork. Happy Camper. The employees are always helpful, and friendly! They have taken some measures to keep their patrons safe. If you pay by cash, you put your money in a box, the box closes, they put your change in the cup and then you get your change. Same with the food. Coming from Australia, where Chinese food is absolutely phenomenal, I had troubles stomaching the Chinese food in the United States. For the past 7 years, I could never find a Chinese restaurant that consistently provides delicious food. Until now. Bamboos is just 4 minutes drive from home, but I only discovered it about a week ago. Since then, I bought food from them almost every day. Great prices, generous portions, but most importantly, amazing taste. For the first time in years, I found a Chinese restaurant that used great cuts of meat in their foods. The beef is super tender and tasty, not chewy. Also I don't have to fish through an entire meal in search of meat. Reasonable meat proportion mixed with vegetables.
