My wife and I wanted to try something new around the Gainesville area and we had not been to Locos yet because they are in what we consider the "forgotten" side of Gainesville 😂
The location is very spacious with plenty fo seating areas. I've heard it van get loud but we were there for lunch with no one playing at the corner stage so we had no issues carrying a conversation. Our waitress was extremely nice and timely with everything, could not have asked for a better waitress. The food actually took us by surprise... way better than we expected!! My wife had the CALIFORNIA CLUB (smoked turkey, bacon, ranch, spinach, tomatoes and fresh avocados) and I had their CHIPOTLE RANCH WRAP (fried chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato and Chipotle ranch on a tortilla wrap) and both were very fresh and tasty!!! My wrap was very flavorful and paired up very well with the tator tots. My wife's French fries were well fried as well. The side of Mc&cheese was because we needed to see if they had OK mc&cheese and it was OK, goof texture with a good creaminess to it, just needs more flavor. We also ordered their FRIED CHEESE which were good but the best part was the fact that the tomato sauce they come with was tasty and good to eat with.
Very happy with...
Read moreI had heard and knew about Locos Grill & Pub growing up in Gainesville, but I’ve never been to or tried their food until recently. I went with a friend for lunch and ordered a French Dip sandwich and Bayou burger both with fries. From the outside, you initially would not think that it was a bar & grill until you go inside and everything hits you from the sports memorabilia, the sounds of pool balls hitting each other and the large moose head in the corner. It was the middle of the lunch hour so the place was busy. We waited about 20 minutes until someone asked if our order was taken yet. We said not yet, and the person went ahead and took our order for us. Our food came out after about the same amount of time. The Bayou burger was cooked medium well as I ordered with perfectly grilled onions and special sauce blending together to create an amazing taste. My friend’s French dip sandwich was also good and our fries were cooked well with a soft interior and crispy exterior. Despite the longer than average wait time, I was still impressed with the quality of the food and could start to see how this unassuming restaurant had made a name for itself in this city. Would love to come again possibly...
Read moreMy wife and I had lunch at Locos Pub and Grill in Gainesville, GA yesterday, when we were traveling to Dahlonega. We had a fantastic experience. Our server, Barbara, was so hospitable, kind, and fun to chat with. She checked on us often during our meal. My wife had the Fajita chicken salad; she said it was great and that the chicken was spiced and flavored so well that she did not need any salad dressing on it at all. I had the Cuban sandwich and onion rings, which were awesome- very flavorful and the rings were fried well. Our meals were reasonably priced, better than average prices I would say. 80’s music was playing in the background, which was really fun. We actually got to talk with the franchise owner, Mr. Wilson. He was really nice and personable when we talked; felt like I had known him for a while. The place has an awesome pool table and a well stocked bar, which we did not get the chance to enjoy, but maybe next time. We left just as the lunch crowd had come in…looks like it is a popular and busy place. We will definitely be back to Locos in Gainesville again soon. Thanks for the great...
