I had a pleasant time there. First ok all for a Sunday night the place was crowded The bar I'd beautiful if youte into aesthetics. The bartender who was a woman, was skilled at servingbtablrs as well as attending bar.. she did not miss a beat. My friend and I ordered fish and chips which was definitely worth it as it was a special for ten dollars. I might add they have live music some nights and what I loved was a 4 2 oz choice of wines both $7 00 and ,$10 for more expensive wines. That was a treat. Ask to see a wine menu.BTw the bartender came back to my table to make sure I was happy with my choices!!! Forgive me for not mentioning it before but this is a sort of Englis pub. That makes it all the more inviting on a chillyJanuary nite. I did not order dessert but the salad with Greek dressing was to die for, with enough crumbled feta for 2 salads. They have 3 wide screen TVs for football fans, I faced the bar lol. I give The Queen Arms pub on 4 stars because my friend claimed food poisoning from the crab sandwich. Based on the other food consumption however. I will disagree as everything everything else was fresh and delicious. I hope this gives you a good idea of the place. Next time I'll have a drink at the bar and a whiskey at the end P.S. they also serve brunch on Sunday. High tea. Sorry you will have to call.on that end. breakfast is also daily Go and have fun. It is lively and worth the drive into beautiful...
Read moreThe Queens Arms, a British Pub, is located in Haile Plantation in the Gainesville area. It is in a beautifully designed mixed community that includes businesses and residential living spaces. This is the only British pub we've found outside of Orlando. Bob likes to meet with some of his British ex-pat friends to drink British beer, eat genuine British fare and watch British soccer or "football" as they call it. Bob's choice of beer was Boddington's, imported from a brewery located in Manchester, England founded in 1778. With such a wide variety of international and American beers, there is something for even the most discerning of tastes. Bob had the banger's and mash and I had a vegetable curry with coconut milk. Both were absolutely delicious! On the other side of the pub is the Bistro restaurant. It is more for families and small children and has the same menu as the pub. They have the most amazing dessert choices! We were very well looked after by Lisa, our waitress and Shauna the bartender. It's a great place to visit if you happen to be in the area, especially if you want to experience genuine British beer and food in a British-style...
Read moreVisiting our kids in Gainesville this weekend and we were looking for a great place to watch the Ireland vs Wales 6 Nations rugby match early Saturday morning. Found this place online and learned there was also a farmers market there every Saturday morning. First off- what a CUTE area! Our oldest is graduating from UF this May and we’d never ventured out to Haile. The farmers market was truly one of the best with great local produce, baked goods, food, and even local ranch raised meat. After a quick stroll through the market, we went in for breakfast at the cafe connected to the Queen’s Arms. Had a wonderful breakfast before heading next door to the pub where we grabbed a pint while watching Ireland destroy Wales- which our daughter and her friends, who studied abroad in Dublin last spring, LOVED! We are coming up again next weekend for our younger son’s family weekend and plan to hit the farmers market, cafe, and pub again next Saturday to catch the Ireland Vs. France Six Nations rugby match. So glad we’ve found this place and that we have two more years of visiting our youngest...
