Wendy's — Restaurant in Galax

I've gone to this particular store a few times throughout the years. I have only ordered the nuggets, Frostys, and as of recently, the ghost pepper fries.

Nuggets - I absolutely love their nuggets. The only other place I get nuggets from in Galax is McDonald's, and I can confidently say each store has their advantages and disadvantages. Wendy's nuggets are more expensive but are more consistent. McDonald's nuggets, you get more bang for your buck, but you can really, really suck.

Basically, if you can get FRESH McDonald's nuggets, go there. Wendy's nuggets are always a step below fresh McD nuggets, but how rare are super fresh nuggets from there? Recommended Spicy Nuggets!!!

Frosty - Absolutely amazing on a hot summer day. I don't think I've ever had a BAD Frosty, and it's hard to say that about a lotta menu items from many places. I will always get the chocolate large when I go there. Even after it melts, it's a great drink. Well, great might be stretching it.. we'll settle for pretty good. Pay a bit more than I like for them, though.

Ghost Pepper Fries - These things are amazing if you love spice. They aren't INSANELY spicy, but if you aren't used to spicy food, they'll give you a punch. I asked them to load my fries up, I mean make me REGRET IT - They made them fries SWIM. I MEAN SWIM. It was really spicy, actually, but I gotta say the number of fries you get is incredibly weak for how much you pay. Next time I might pay for a large fry and ask if they can just put the ghost pepper sauce on the side!!

Drive-Thru - Overall experience was nice, the drive thru order taker was quick, helpful, and responsive. Even joking back to me, it really was pleasant. Times change drastically, if there's a line you WILL be waiting a while. Like, I think I was in line for ~20 minutes. Maybe I was just unlucky? Times with no line was insanely fast.

This Wendy’s has slowly been going down hill for months with mess ups and forgotten items but tonight Saturday 11/09/2024 was just ridiculous. I’ve worked fast food and customer service my entire working life and I don’t know when it became okay to just take items your out off of a customers order with out informing them or offering to change there order. I only noticed because the total they told me at the window was different then the ordering screen so I asked why it was different and they said oh we are out of that item so I asked them to replace it with a different item. The two lady’s working made a big deal about having to re ring up my one extra item that wouldn’t have needed to be rung in separately if they would have done there job right in the first place. Honestly would have went back through the line if they needed me too but They proceeded to tell me it’s fine I’ll just give you said item you don’t have to pay for it to just pull up and they would bring everything out when it was ready. Well as any one reading this probably guessed they still messed up my order when I finally got it but I was fed up with the staff and chicken nuggets aren’t worth arguing over. Pretty sure the worker was just concerned about her next cigarette break, while I was pulled up waiting on my food I noticed the lady who I just ordered with come out for a cigarette break with another worker. They went back on then the same worker who was just there smoking with the lady who rung us up came back out for another 2 cigarettes in a 5-10min max period. I’m a smoker myself but that’s never been okay any place I worked. I think upper management needs to check out the current management and staffing situation. It's sad I eat at Wendy's 3 or 4 times a week. But usually on 2nd shift. Went today for lunch and Kayla was in the drive thru. I would order an item and she would say so rudely and miserably what else, I told her I understand you don't want to work there but you can't be rude to the customers. She didn't respond so we pulled up she handed us our order then she closes her window and stares at me like she wanted to murder me. I ignored her pulled out and I see her slip her hand out the window and flip me a bird. My fiance begged me to take her back but I called the store and the manager I assume answered. It wasn't Kayla but she was just as rude. She refused to give me the store number even though I told her that that her printers out of ink that's why I couldn't get it off the receipt she said she doesn't have to give it to me even if I'm a customer and hangs up. That place is a joke and me and the three people in the cat won't be back for love nor money. You don't operate a business like that. If yall hate yalls job...
