I chose one star because it will not let you post without selecting something.... Please do yourself a favor and SKIP this place. Looking for Mexican food while in Galena we searched the web and found this one. Since the reviews were 50/50 with a 3.5 rating we were torn and decided to ask the Mexican gentleman working at the Inn we were staying. Now living in Chicago where there is Authentic Mexican food on every block and being married to a Mexican American I think i qualify as a good source when it comes to judging food. So let me assist all of the people on the fence who cant decide. This place is terrible and should not even be considered. I have probably eaten at 100's of Mexican restaurants from Mexico to North Carolina and this by far hands down was the worst........ We were set right away which was a plus. My wife ordered a Margarita that came so fast that she knew it was out of a bottle before she sipped it and confirmed it afterwards. After drinks we waited a very long time for our dinner and yet the restaurant was only half full. We ordered the Trio Fajitas that looked great when they came to the table but was so badly tasting we left 90% of or meal on the table. When asked if we need a take home container we laughed so hard that i had to tip the girl extra because i felt really bad. All the meat (shrimp Chicken steak and chorizo was dry and tasteless. How the hell do you dry out Chorizo its naturally greasy. Then beans were so bad i almost called the manager over. PEOPLE THERE IS THIS THING CALLED SEASONING...USE A LITTLE BIT..PLEASE...And to top it off the worst part of all the Corn tortillas. If you cant get Tortillas right you definitely need to get out of the business. No authentic restaurant should microwave tortillas and serve them in foil. Hint the reason why they were sticking together and fallen apart as we tried to pull them apart. The 3.5 stars most be out of 100. because its no way its out of 5...The best part of the night was that i was only out of $50. since i had to leave there and go some where else to eat. Coming from a person who usually never complains and looks at every bad experience as a learning tool. take my advice this place is BAD if you know what Mexican cuisine is suppose to taste...
Read moreSCREAMING KIDS RUNNING THROUGHOUT THE RESTAURANT ~ On Tuesday, Feb 13th we were in the Galena restaurant for dinner. In the room to the left, as you come in the front door, was a group of people having a party (I assume). There were 3 or 4 young kids running rampant throughout the restaurant, in and out of the kitchen and in between tables. We had the worst experience of our lives. I have NEVER seen such unattentive parents in all my life. AND....to make matters worse, several adults in the party were employees of Los Aztecas. AND...the waitresses were playing in front of our table with the kids. 3 patrons left very unhappy before us because of the screaming kids left to run around the restaurant. The parents just sat there and were oblivious to what they kids were doing. WE DID NOT go out to dinner to listen to screaming kids and have to dodge kids running in and out of all the tables. One lady couldn't even get in the door because the kids were blocking the doorway. YOU have LOST our business. We will NEVER frequent your restaurant again and I will never recommend you to anyone. We asked the waitress to please quiet down the kids and she told someone in the kitchen and the manager had the guts to come to the kitchen door to see who was complaining. Never once apologized or anything. Not very good customer...

We came here for lunch around 1:30 on a Tuesday. They were not busy as we came after the lunch rush.
Menus were given to us by the hostess as we were seated.
Our server was by within 5 minutes of being seated. As we had studied the menu, we placed our drink and food orders at the same time.
I ordered the Linch Combo and selected 2 Beef Enchiladas with Refried Beans. The ground beef wasn’t very well seasoned in my experience. I added the hot salsa to it and that made it pretty nice actually. The refried beans were decent.
My wife ordered the Lunch Taco Salad. While there was plenty of ground beef in it, like my enchiladas, it wasn’t flavorful. She also added the hot salsa to it. Before adding the salsa, she noted that the lettuce was really wet and the bottom of the taco bowl was saturated.
The Chips and Salsa came out right after our meals were dropped. So that was odd. But good news - the chipped were super crispy and tasty and the 2 salsas were great too.
We both ordered Wine Sangria. There want any fruit in them but they were tasty.
The menu here is Humungous. Something for everyone for sure. And it was I that they had lunch dishes at a lower...
