I have to agree with another review. I watched the manager get nasty with employees last night. We have been loyal Red Onion customers for more than 15 years. The food was as delicious as always, but his attitude towards the employees and me were uncalled for. My 2 year old had spilled some of his drink and we needed napkins. I approached the counter and every single employee was gathered at the door to the kitchen. I tried to say "mam" to get the attention of the one closest to me, as none saw me there and napkins are not where customers can get them. I watched as the manager started handing off food and raising his voice to tell them to go with it. Then one male employee grabbed some silverware packets to take and he was reprimanded because one of the girls already had silverware. I was told something along the lines of wait. I told them that I just needed napkins and were there not any out here. Yes. The manager's response was, "No, mam." However, his tone was not kind at all. To the point that my husband doesn't want to return to this location again. (Note we have eaten here multiple times and never had any issues.) I asked one of the employees if he was the owner. She said he was the manager. She excused his behavior by telling me that he was hard of hearing and they were really busy. I'm uploading a picture of what is apparently "really busy." Even if they were really busy, his behavior is not okay. We probably won't return as long as he works there, as it's obvious from an earlier review that this isn't the first time he's behaved this way. Please note that the food is wonderful and we really have had great service...
Read moreRed Onion Cafe has done an amazing job of making the situation of my wife's knee replacement surgery and overnight hospital confinement a much easier experience. The wonderful staff has gone above and beyond to provide food, not only for my wife's in room meals, but those of mine and my daughter. The food was delicious, every Red Onion employee was extremely helpful, and Red Onion's presence had a positive effect on the entire atmosphere of the hospital. Every employee I dealt with put forth extra effort to make certain I was well cared for. When I ordered my first meals I was given a coupon for a discount on my next order and had had difficulty applying the coupon code in my phone app when ordering the evening meals. My cashier went to great lengths to make certain that the discount was applied when I completed the purchase. After returning to my wife's room where her evening meal had already been brought to her, I was giving my daughter her part of the food and the employee who had taken my order knocked on the door with some more of my food that I had inadvertently left behind in the Cafe. I am tremendously grateful to Red Onion for their excellent service and I really appreciate all...
Read moreAlthough the food was very good I just can't get past what I witnessed and heard today as a female staff member of the cafe was verbally degraded by whom appeared to be her manager. She had made a mistake...owned up to it and he raised his voice at her and kept belittling her loud enough I could hear it in the dining room. I have been a restaurant owner and there is a time and a place for reprimands. He was most definitely out of line. She was clearly sorry and told him that. But she became very upset. I was 1 of 3 customers in the dining area. There was also a Mercy employee there but he waited until she left before he got the most belligerent. I am guessing there must be a good deal of turnover in the cafe due to his aggressive verbal nature. It's just a shame how he...
