I will give one star because it didn’t smell bad. I would give it zero stars for the unprofessional manner in which the staff conducts business. Multiple calls were left un returned ,many times ,to various family members in the process of trying to admit to the nursing home. When we quickly knew we had made a mistake by placing our loved ones there, comments were made to our loved ones making them feel guilty that their family had decided to move them to a different place. We are STILL waiting for a refund to be made for the time they had already paid for though they were only there a week. This has been about 6 weeks so far. The facility is shabby and essential equipment, such as the shower, are left broken and apparently there are no intentions to repair things as they break .The lunch I saw on my loved one’s plate was below what inmates are served. A thin slice of turkey LUNCH MEAT with congealed gravy. At the price point changed for care, the food should be much better. My dad was in there and it was the worst ever. He was not allowed to try solid food since we brought him home he is eating solid food and starting to walk again. I was told by the PT and speech therapist that we would be in the hospital in a week. Well over a week and he is doing great and better every day. Got his blood sugar back down to lower 100’s and they had it up above 250. Kept trying to give him sugar, brown sugar. Nursing staff and PT break HIPPA laws as they talk about patients in front of other patients. Refusing to give me medical records have asked 3 times. I personally don't think I could have found a better place for my Dad !! After little over 2 years placing him there. I believe he was at a great place. Every time I popped into visit him he was clearly in good hands. I would tell all the nurses and employees every time I visited him ( hey thank you all for taking care of my daddy) .So again Galena Manor ! Thanks again for taking so good care...
