1st impression: Not unfriendly, but certainly could care less if we were there or not (I felt like I should have had an a disclaimer for being an American by saying "I won't be voting for Donald Trump!" 2nd impession: It smelled clean, clean bathroom too, so it was a surprise that the right hand corner of the menu was sticky, and visalibly soiled with red sauce. They did not thank me for sweetly pointing this out. Hey!.. they are the ones who had an easel out front stating how clean they are! I thought they would consider it: "a save" for the reputation they are trying to create. They did not. The room only got "colder" & this consumer quieter. The food was average Mexican, no Soups offerd, (a habit of mine to bring soup home as take out for later).. Chicken Thomas was skimpy. If you like "make-you-pucker" margaritas you'll be happy. However the Patrone, or so they said, my highly sensitive taste buds had their doubts, did not improve their high green, plastic bottle mix. The dis-at-ease for lack of a welcoming atmosphere & dirty menues was eased somewhat by their excellent grilled veggies ( broccoli zucchini mushrooms onion). Perhaps they are "grilled vegetable snobs"? (Of course, being either unfriendly by nature, or "SEEMINGLY" anti-American, & I...being the one who quietly & gently, pointed out the visible dirty menue, they were not the least bit interested in sharing what seasoning they used on their grilled veggies, other than a curt: "It's 3 different bottles of stuff." Since, on ANY day, after a weary rainy day of travel, i would think anyone starts feeling instantly better when they have landed in a welcoming place, when staff is glad to see customers, especially at a Hotel desk, Rental Car clerk, Restaurant host & table service people. So, enjoy the grilled veggies, don't have any consumer feed back, (just ask for a clean menu) shut up, eat, and get the Hell out! So perhaps the next time you go in?.. all of the service people will want you at their table. You will be their ideal customer, and for goodness sakes don't wear any Donald Trump gear.

I love Mexican food. I can find something good to say even if it is just okay. My husband tolerates my love for this food. But every once in a while a chicken chimichanga will pass his lips and he will say, “This is good. I will definitely come back.” We have traveled across the U.S. and this flavor was authentic, found only in a few places we have tried in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Pineville, Missouri. In addition to taste, the fajita chimichanga portion was big enough for two. The tacos and rice and beans were good and the chips were crisp. The salsa just spicy enough and the queso was crack a lackin. Don’t forget to add the homemade guacamole; no puréed avocados here. And if you are topping it off with a margarita, just a warning that they are fresh and strong so start with one and see how you feel after and make sure to take your designated driver like I did. El Toril was worth the 40 mile drive and we plan to come here often. Unless they want to bring their restaurant to Teays Valley, West Virginia.

Amazing mexican food! The queso is the best! I never get sick of eating here. My favorite place in town 😍 they recently bought all new tables and seats and added both a drive thru and outdoor seating which is super exciting! They have the best service in town in my opinion, I've never had wait long for either my seat or food and my order is always correct! This is my go to for special occasions, catching up with friends, or take out night with the family. Prices are very reasonable too. Definitely a must in Gallipolis! Also the margs are necessary, this one my mom is having is peach my personal fav.

My colleagues are regulars here and have been telling me about this place for some time. I finally had a chance to visit, and they were right, this place is excellent.

The service was wonderful, the meal was fantastic and the restaurant itself was clean.

I ordered the vegetarian chimichanga and not only was it delicious, but it was huge. The leftovers were the next day's lunch and a snack after work, and still delicious. My coworkers' meals were also reportedly delicious and similarly huge. Also, i feel i have to mention how great the broccoli is here. I don't know why, but they just happen to cook some especially good broccoli.

There was a mistake with a coworker's order, where they had cooked his steak differently than ordered, however, they made things so right that the level of commitment they showed toward keeping their customers happy, was impressive. They went above and beyond, without being asked to.

I have forgotten our server's name, but she was excellent. She was timely, very polite and professional, and was nice to chat with. I feel bad for forgetting her name, but she did a great job!

I will be visiting this restaurant every time I am in Gallipolis. Do not pass...

I really wish I would have taken a photo of the food for reference but I didn't even think to. For this restaurant to be rated so well my husband and I was very much let down. He got the steak fajitas & myself I got the chicken & steak fajitas. We came in about 9 so an hour before closing, it took a lil while for us to get our food though. Once the food arrived I was appalled by our plates. The steak fajitas portion was sooo small(maybe a heaping handful of steak and peppers) and the steak was VERY thinly sliced. The taste of everything was mediocre. I expected much more based on the rating. The steak and chicken fajitas plate was much more full but was nothing special and was not sizzling when it came out. The rice & beans were rather bland. It seemed the guacamole and pico that came on the salad had the most flavor of all. I must say the cheesecake burrito dessert was very delicious but the dinner could have been much better. I don't live in the area but I do visit there and I can say this is one restaurant I wouldn't be returning to due to it being a waste of money for what you're getting. If people call that good mexican then they've never had any REAL good...
