It was my first time eating here, and I WILL BE BACK! I HAVE BEEN DEPRIVED!
I am sad we don't have these in northern Ohio, and I am also glad, because I'd look like Jabba the Hutt. Seriously. This is good, basic food, from what I understand is a regional chain.
I am a sausage gravy and biscuits fan from way back, and as a rule I am disappointed by what I get served in restaurants. It is either from a can, horribly seasoned, the sausage is terrible, it is bland from too much milk being added, so pasty it should hang wallpaper, or some combination of the above.
If you love sausage gravy like I love sausage gravy, just stop right here and get some from Biscuit World, because it is NONE of those things I just mentioned.
Let's start with the sausage. Making it at home I prefer Jimmy Dean's or Johnsonville. I know their flavors. This was neither. Scoop: I suspect Biscuit World has their own sausage blend, the clever people. 😉 I could taste the pork, and the spices balanced perfectly with just the right amount of heat and salt! As for the magical gravy, it was FULL of the well-developed flavor of that sausage. It was heaven by the luscious FORKFUL. It was thick and creamy, but not too runny, and it had the perfect amount of flour to thicken it, without becoming sticky sludge
About the biscuit, if your name is "Biscuit World" you'd better have a biscuit to write home about. Here's my letter: "Momma, I just ate a biscuit that was crispy on the outside, fluffy and tender in the center, steaming fresh, and it didn't taste bitter from baking powder. It was better than yours. In spite of that, I still love you." 😊
I made the mistake of getting two biscuits with gravy for $4 and the portion was HUGE. I ate every. Single. Bite. I wanted to lick the plate. Jabba the Hutt.
My friend ordered the blackberry dessert biscuit for us to split. An "ordinary" biscuit. Zzzzzzz. Covered with blackberry compote, and drizzled lightly with a sweet white glaze. I don't like a sickly sweet dessert.
Even though I was full, stuffed (becoming Jabba,) I took a bite of my half of the large concoction. OK, I have reviewed some five star stuff. The textures and flavors in this were right there. You had that awesome crispy, fluffy, delicate biscuit vehicle, carrying the large, flavorful warm blackberries, and just enough sweetness from the glaze to make it ... perfect. I'd happily eat this anywhere. I finished the whole thing.
I could barely move. I waddled over to the counter to thank our excellent staff for their service, and we left.
I will be coming to Gallipolis on a regular basis, and this affordable if plain gem is on my list of destinations in town. One other thing: I usually low carb. They offer a generous low carb plate on the menu above their counter, for $6.99. Thank you for everything...
Read moreWent today and got breakfast to go. Got home and my orders were wrong. This is nothing new anymore with tudors at either location. Seems they can't read the orders or just don't care. Either way my food was wasted because it couldn't be eaten and the other order was made so wrong that it didn't even resemble the food that was ordered. This happened once before and I was contacted by whoever claimed to be the owner and nothing was made right. Decided to give it one more try but after today, I will not be back. Prices have went up like everywhere else in the area but with that, you would expect to get the food you ordered the way...
Read moreI'm from the Gallia/Mason County area, so I have lots of fond memories of eating breakfast and lunch at Tudor's. The food is delicious. The biscuits are fluffy and warm. The meat is tender and juicy. The cheese is melty. The staff is friendly. I love this place! I don't live in the area anymore, but every time I'm down visiting my family, a trip to Tudor's Biscuit World has to be on the itinerary since there are none in the area where I live now. Additionally, it's a great place to grab breakfast before morning grocery shopping since this location is right next...
