EDIT: I really loved this place ! But after noticing for months that the owners brother was adding his own tip , without even asking . For a sandwich that was normally about $19 and some change, I was paying $23 and some change for . And I really only noticed it when my cousin would come in not even an hour before me and would pay way less, and when I got cashed out by other employees I would pay $19, but I guess it’s also my mistake for not speaking up at the time because I really tried to think after coming for so long that they wouldn’t do something grimy like that. I messaged the instead page about a month ago explaining the situation and was left on read with no explanation or reply. And I guess I can’t say I’m at a total loss considering the el Camino doesn’t even taste like how it used to when it was just the owner making it, but I guess that shouldn’t be too surprising considering it’s people following his recipe yanno. Just super disappointed in the way I was taken advantage of . I won’t be back here anymore . I suggest trying “on the corner” similar food , better quality & price .
I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the best food I have ever had. I always get the el Camino . I don’t know what kind of sauce goes in it, but the sauce is amazing, and it just adds on to the whole food like it makes it taste even better than what it already is. I have been here for a while, since the owner had a food truck & was hopping locations. The food has always been consistent, not once has a tasted different . The owner is amazing, he’s so friendly and he does a great job trying to get to know each of his customers personally to the point he will remember the conversation that you had the previous time you’ve seen him. At this location I have also tried the chicken eggrolls, which are amazing as well, the green sauce that it comes with makes the eggrolls taste even better. I could genuinely go on and on about this location but if you’re reading this, I think you get the point lol do not hesitate to go to this location, and if by chance, you have something that you don’t really like, try something else, because there is so much of a variety with the food youre bound to find something that you love. And if you haven’t yet, please please please try the el Camino . I really do not think anybody would be disappointed about that. Side note // I see a lot of people complaining abt the prices but I do think it’s justifiable considering the...
Read moreWe were super excited to try this place because of a video we saw promoting it on instagram. We drove 45 minutes one way to come try their food. As soon as we walked in we had this sense of “what’s going on here” as we noticed there were only 2 people in line, about 7 workers behind the counter, one of which was a woman sitting on the counter (EW. In food service? Really?), and it was pure chaos behind that counter. Too many people working with not enough to do, and they’re confusing themselves. Once we had a chance to order, it got worse. The experience I’m assuming is supposed to be similar to Qdoba or Chipotle where you go down the line and build your bowl or burrito or whatever you choose. So my husband and I order one burrito and one bowl, then the guy helping us grabs the bowl and tortilla, sets it on the counter, then walks over to the other people in line and starts asking them about their order, which was weird to me because someone else was already helping them and then he just started our food and abandoned it? So it then proceeded to take over 15 minutes for them to even work on preparing either of our food, all the while the two people ahead of us are still waiting on their food to be ready. It just seemed like no one really knew what their role was, and everyone was trying to get involved in the other workers business, and no one could get anything done efficiently. Overall we were there over 30 minutes just to get a take out order, with only 2 other customers to help. Oh AND the customers that were ahead of us were still waiting on their food by the time we paid and left. As far as the food itself goes, it was really good. The only complaint I have about the actual food itself was that once I got down to about the last four bites of my burrito, I took a bite and immediately bit into something hard/crunchy and there wasn’t supposed to be anything hard or crunchy in my food, or anything with a texture even close to that. So at that point I spit it out and threw the rest away because that just freaked me out. Other than that, our food was really delicious and tastes like quality food. I also don’t know what makes it “Gourmet Mexican” because none of it is authentic, and there’s not one Hispanic person that works there, so I’m not sure what “Gourmet...
Read moreUpdate: I tried it and it was delish! My husband and I were sure we would have extra because the portions are so big. Nope…we polished it all off. Everything was SO good. We ordered a burrito with carne asada. The meat had great flavor. OMG it was so huge. I would definitely get a bowl with tortilla on side next time. We ordered a crunch wrap grande with ground beef and the cheese crust on the outside. I believe they call the meat “taco seasoned”. I didn’t taste much seasoning in it when tasting it alone, but the crunch wrap had no shortage of flavor with all of the flavorful ingredients they have. Sauces were very good. We also ordered Esquites. The very first time I had Elote many years ago, I fell in love. I have tried so many different versions of it over the years. I have enjoyed them, but never like the first time. Their version is what I have been looking for! Thank you for making this dish perfectly (according to me). The value is good here because the portions are so large. BUT if you can’t eat it all and won’t eat the leftovers, it is expensive. Even then, it is still worth it to me for the quality food. There is some bar seating at the windows to dine in. Only complaint, We weren’t acknowledged for quite a while while standing there, the only customers in there. Three employees were there talking and clearly saw us. We were later eating and saw the same thing happen to another couple and they were also the only customers in line. The food took a while. I didn’t expect fast food speed for sure, but it didn’t seem like anybody was moving with any type of urgency either. The process seemed a bit all over the place.
I definitely recommend this place and will return. Based on my experience and other reviews, I will expect to wait a while when visiting.
I haven’t tried the food personally, but I just picked up a DoorDash order from there. It was very clean, the staff was very friendly, and the food portions amazing(ly BIG)! Many on here are saying the prices are too high. I definitely think with the portion sizes that I saw, prices were appropriate. We will definitely be trying the food ourselves in the...
