I was in the mood for Chipotle chicken tacos and Fiesta chicken was the place to get them! I usually order just the Chipotle chicken tacos but I wanted to be different today. I tried out a couple different things. Today's lunch menu was a quesabirria taco, a carne asada taco and of course the Chipotle chicken taco.
The gal that helped me today was really busy working the register and drive thru. She did greet me right away and told me it would be a minute. I appreciate her acknowledging me. It's amazing how some staff members will just ignore you at other restaurants. After she was done helping others she gladly took my order. My order was finished pretty quickly. I grabbed some fresh salsa and limes for my order from the salsa cart. Everything was nice and clean.
The Chipotle chicken taco was loaded with chicken. It was a good size taco. The flour tortilla was soft, the chicken was flavorful and the Chipotle sauce was creamy with a good amount of heat to it. It was a hearty taco! The carne asada taco was decent. It did come with a lot of carne asada! The meat was a little too minced for me. I might have them swap for a flour instead of the corn tortilla next time. The quesabirria was cooked perfectly. The cheese was melty! The golden crunchy edges from the cheese hardening is my favorite. The consommé that came with it was savory and flavorful. It was on the saltier side but a little fresh lime juice helped calm the saltiness. The tortilla could have been a little crunchier on the quesabirria but overall it was a damn good quesabirria.

Read moreI have had several really good individual meals at Fiesta Chicken and I loved it. So when I had to plan a small party, I naturally thought of Fiesta chicken.
I went into the store with plenty of time, thinking that for a larger order I would have to come back to pick it up. I was told that I could wait because it would only be a few minutes.
I ordered three 8 piece chicken with 3 extra large sides. The sides were macaroni and cheese and the broccoli salad.. these are awesome sides and they did not disappoint my guests either..
Unfortunately, the chicken was different than what had been given in the past. First, I think they gave me mixed pieces, which includes some white meat. I don't prefer white meat because it seems dry to me but they didn't ask and I did not remember to specify. So that was probably on me. However, all the chicken (white and dark meat) was dry. It looked and tasted burnt/overcooked. (Think chicken that has been in the grocery store deli case under the lights for too long) There were lots of stringy, tough areas that were completely inedible. There were entire pieces of chicken like this, perhaps wings? I was so disappointed. I was looking forward to telling my family about this great restaurant I had found. Not surprisingly, no one asked where I had purchased the meal. So in conclusion, I would say keep it simple if you go here. If you purchase one meal at a time, you should be fine. In larger quantities...I don't know what went wrong but I know that my party was kinda ruined and I...
Read moreFiesta Chicken is the most underrated restaurant in Boise, don't @ me. I don't know how this place isn't more talked about. Locals sure know about it - the drive thru is packed every day. If you're from out of town, I highly encourage you to stop by for some of the best damn chicken you'll ever eat.
Everything on their menu is fantastic. However, my absolute favorite and number one recommendation are the Chipotle Chicken Tacos. Someone else here says they are the equivalent of crack - I second that! Three warm, fluffy flour tortillas filled with generously seasoned chicken, cheese, pico de gallo, and lettuce drizzled with the most delicious chipotle ranch. It comes with a kick, but if you're a real one you'll still add more hot sauce to send your taste buds to a whole other planet.
If you're really, really hungry, the Chicken Burrito Supreme will take great care of you. It's HUGE and cheap. And very, very good. Delicious, moist chicken, rice, beans, cheese, onions, cilantro, guac, pico and sour cream all stuffed in an extra large flour tortilla. What a mouthful! It's extremely flavorful. Think about the best burrito you've ever had, and multiply that feeling by 10.
Their beef is meh. I would never choose anything with beef here when their chicken is the real star...
