A long day of traveling and my sons and I were wanting options so where better than the American favorite Golden Corral? We were met with a friendly face. The rest of our experience left us scratching our heads and leaving us wondering why we didn't just eat grass alongside the interstate. I recall when a hostess would carry our tray of drinks to a table, and we would pick our seats and then rush to go get a plate and excitedly and indeterminately roam about trying to decide where to go first because everything looked so fresh, so good. Not so here. Most of the food looked like it was on the buffet for at least a week and the things that should look moist and tender looked like that dead carcass alongside the road in hot, humid Flor-a-Bama territory. Settling for a steak, I asked the grill attendant, whose clothes were still soaked from crossing the Rio Grand, "Do you have anything med-rare?" Without looking at the steak he cut a piece and placed it on my plate reluctantly while looking away from my face. The steak was, of course, over the temp I requested and the corn I got was extremely oversalted. This was a problem with all the food we got because we all pounded down our glasses of water like alcoholics at an open bar at a wedding that you know is destined to fail. I had to put up smoke signals to get the attention of our waitress to get refills even though the restaurant was half capacity. In her defense, she may have been at another restaurant on break, eating dinner. Most of the employees looked miserable, the hot bar reflected their attitudes, the ice-cream machine was empty and the girlfriend of the meat-man working the grill didn't seem to care that the caramel dispenser was empty and that I had to eat my bread pudding without it. This was not the American dining experience I remember when last I took my family to the Golden Corral. Now it's just the Corral. No gold medal here and I guess that makes me the donkey for thinking some things in America won't ever change. Save some money, go to your favorite grocery store and pick up something to make yourself, find it on YouTube, and enjoy. The days of being treated to first class service at a well managed establishment and enjoying so much delicious food until you blow the buttons off your shirt and split your...
Read moreDon't come here.
I was raised to be humble and kind... although simply this place sell food that should be in the garbage. All you can eat dumpster food.
I am just lost for words salad was super shriveled up. Chicken was small. Grill had like nothing on it and is just for looks. Bone in chicken was slightly pink and under cooked. Honestly I look at this place as an adult and I feel sorry for people who eat here. Figured I would try it has been a year but never coming back ever. Golden Coral you are dead to me.
Your hamburger has tons of fat chunks in it seriously I don't cus but what the hell.
There is no variety and no creativity. You are behind the times. This used to be a respectable family place. Now it is filled with old people and broke people who don't make time to think what they are eating.
Who serves tuna sandwiches at an all you can eat place. I mean dam.
Amazing how there is plenty of treats but seems all the meat is the cheapest cuts and skimpy helpings. Has been roasted under a warming light for a whole day. This place is depressing. You should be embarrassed to serve this food.
Are you seriously so worried about your bottom line you cut food quality. I hope you are forced to foreclose this place. Let someone with spirit and purpose come in here and give the people some quality food.
I mean how sad is it food from a taco van is more fresh than this place and sells higher quality food. So sad.
You have created a sit down restaurant people are embarrassed to sit in.
Your hamburger is closer to meatloaf. Yet it is worse because who puts equal amounts of fat as meat in a hamburger. Thought it was onions at first nope pulled a piece out and it is fat.
This place doesn't give their employees enough time to take the seeds out out the green peppers. Would have taken more pictures but manager was all up in my...
Read moreOk most times, foods good to excellent, and so is the wait staff. My complaint is about how they handled customer calling in! Wednesday I called in to reserve room for 10 to 20 guests, as part of a after funeral get together as this was my father's favorite place to eat out. I was told they were to busy to help us and maybe we could call back tomorrow. All I can say was It was kind of rude and not good service in that she did not take a moment to take down the information. And so later that Friday what small group we did go and had a nice time and tip rather large for the wait staff. While there I saw a flyer for Thanksgiving dinner to-go a 69.99 deal. I called over the weekend to reserve a package dinner I was told they no longer had them available and I should try someplace else. I tried to clarify a couple times to make sure we were talking about the same thing. And finally established she would not and could not check to see if any were still available at all. Also I might add a friend of mine was there at that time inline and called me and said its funny because they still have the brochures and cards out and he saw nothing that said limited quantities or limited time. He said he would check personally, however I told him no go enjoy dinner and don't worry about it I would fine someplace else. So right now I can give them 3 stars and that's because of the poor interaction on the phone. Instead of trying to find out or get the manager to assist, it was your out of luck go elsewhere, that type as attitude seems more typically of staff in a number of places, we're too busy to help you. It's sad the customer no longer takes priority but I guess that's the world we live in now. Will I stopped...
