Coffee Studio has been around for a while but with Dutch Bros front and center off Milwaukee, I'm sure people go to Dutch first for it's convenience and it's popularity. I'm guilty of that but today I decided to drive the extra 100 yards and hit up Coffee Studio instead. My goal lately is to support more local businesses in our area.
It was late afternoon when I stopped in and it was busy! There was only one barista working and she was hustling! There were two cars in the drive thru. 2 gals a head of me and and another guest waiting for his beverage. She was killing it! Quite impressive how she handled all the pressure of customers waiting for their drinks.
She got everyone smashed out and asked what I would like to drink. I gave her my usual order, a small iced americano with sugar free white chocolate with room for cream. She was still finishing an order from the drive thru but I told her to take her time. I wasn't in a rush. I hung out and looked at all the merch and goodies while my drink was being made.
The shop is small and cute. There's big windows which give the small space so much pretty lighting. Love the fresh plants and the simple decor here. I adore that they reuse the syrup bottles as vases for plants, it adds a fun touch to the space. The shop is very welcoming. I also appreciate the outdoor seating. There are strung up lights outside which would be pretty at night. They close at 4 so enjoying the lights would be hard. But I can imagine a brisk fall day, late afternoon when it gets dark early chillin outside with a big mug in hand. Talk about a great setting.
I didn't grab the sweet barista's name. She asked me if I wanted to add my own cream or if she can do it for me. I told her to go for it. I should have done it myself cause I could have used a hair more cream. It was on the bitter side but I added a little more half and half when I got home and it was perfect! You can really taste the espresso, it wasn't watered down which was nice! All balanced in espresso, cream and sweetness.
This little joint pushes out some bold drinks. And it was nice to see how many people were at this place the same time I was. The barista killed it and made me a great drink. It was great stopping in for my afternoon caffeinated beverage. I look forward to coming back. Especially in the fall when I can sit outside under the lights sipping on...
Read moreI only ONLY gave this place 4 stars due to the fact it took me ten minutes from the time I got to the window to the time I got my coffee. I went through the drive through to get my husband a large 20 Oz Carmel mocha and it was about $7.50 or something close to that. My husband said it’s the best coffee he has ever had and begged me to get him one. Even tho I’m pregnant and the smell of coffee makes me gag I thought why not? After getting up to the window there were 3 woman working and a line of customers up front and a line down the drive through. I went acknowledged or even told “hang on! We’ll be right with you!” Or anything courteous. It didn’t seem like they were stressed as they were joking around and having fun, but I waited about 5 minutes with my windows rolled down as rain poured through my window. It was just a very wet day that day but having my windows down for that long got my interior wet because I couldn’t roll them up because I didn’t no how long it would take them to get to me. Finally after taking my order and waiting for it, the lady was SUPER friendly and very lovely. They got through about 3 customers up front the next three minutes before they could start on mine then it took about 2 minutes. For the time it took them to get to me and make my Coffee, to get everything situated I wouldn’t say the coffee as worth $7.50. But I also don’t drink coffee, I’m more of a chai-tea woman. But even withy husband loving it as much, I’m not entirely Sure what makes it so special to cost $7.50, especially when it’s $5.75 at Dutch bros or human bean, again— NOT A COFFEE EXPERT. Use your judgment here!! If my husband said it’s the best — give it a go! When the ladies get to you they’ll be friendly! But expect maybe a little bit of a wait? Or maybe it was an off-day and I was in an unfortunate position to catch them in a busy rush— 1pm. But all I can speak on is...
Read moreMy friend I met with enjoyed his drink! The atmosphere is also great and the people and customer are pheromonal. I ran into friends every time I have come.
Today my experience was that I walked into the coffee shop and stood in line for a slightly above average time, which is no big deal. I waited for several minutes like normal, with two people ahead of me, and what appeared to be a full drive through, which is no big deal. Barista's were focused and hard at work. Another gentleman came behind me, which is completely normal. While I was waiting in line for an extra few minutes while the staff was busy, I was talking to an "old-timer" who was so nice, but a little long winded, no big deal. As I stood in the same line with no movement checking to see if it was my turn to order, the barista takes the order of the gentleman behind me without acknowledging me, apparently because I wasn't facing forward, makes his drink, because he's a regular, is what he told me. The two customers in front of me finally got their orders, and then they take the money of the guy behind me. And then one barista goes back to making drinks, and the other to drive through. Not the best start to my day, but at least regulars are taken care of here. While they could have been making my drink, they made his drink because they knew him. As I walked out the door, the barista turned to me and asked if she could get something started for me. It would have been cool if she asked when it was my turn. The guy behind be was great, and the old timer was awesome. Just be careful who you talk to while waiting in line so you don't get bypassed. No one should be fired. No one should get in trouble. I'm just informing the public and venting to you two people that read this, because I was having such a great day and this was a negative experience to start off such an otherwise beautiful day in...
