Thai cuisine is a favorite of my husband and myself so we are always looking for Thai restaurants while we travel for work. I don’t think we would have found Thai Arawan if we weren’t specifically looking for it, but we were pleasantly surprised! They offer different Asian dishes, but my husband and I came for the Thai food! I ordered the Panang Curry with Tofu with a spice level 2 (the waiter made sure that I was aware that they use actual Thai peppers in their dishes and double checked if I wanted that spice level - I assured him I was all for it!) Also, I sincerely appreciate that the waiter asked if I was ok with the fish sauce used in the curry since he noticed I ordered tofu - I’m not strictly vegan but I thought that was super considerate of him to do. My husband ordered the Pad Thai (passed on the spice) with chicken for his meal. Wow - both of our plates were amazing! My dish was definitely spicy, but it was the right amount of zing for me! My husband also kindly let me try his food (😉) and it was delicious as well! The food was great and the service was kind - very happy with our decision to find this restaurant and I recommend it to anyone in the area!

Excellent flavors. Friendly staff. Maybe a little eccentric as there were little notes everywhere. But, they will bring the heat if that’s your thing. First time I went was a number of years ago and I got a spice level 3. (Note: spice levels start after mild, medium, and spicy) I was not prepared… this time I got a level 1 and that was much better, perfect amount of spice for me. Got the Arwan Special with steamed rice, summer rolls, and crab & cheese wontons. Summer rolls were average, but everything else was definitely worth the trip!

Food was good and portions average. I had Mongolian Beef Medium heat with fried rice and chicken Satay. My wife had Chicken and Brocoli with fried rice and crab cream cheese wontons. For medium heat my Mongolian was pretty mild, but better than too hot. We were seated promptly and service was good. Cleanliness needs some work. The wall at our table was covered in a large varity of food splatters. So was the wall at another table nearby.

It's got amazing food! All of it is so good. The people are so nice and welcoming. Even when it's your first time and you have no idea what you're doing, they're very understanding. Plus, they have pictures on the wall so you can see what food you're getting and what it looks like. You can even see whatll be out in it since they labeled every single dish and picture. They even have different levels of spicy. I enjoy the higher levels, but they often just taste burnt to me rather than spicy (like they are spicy, but it still tastes like they burnt it due to the peppers used). I'm an absolute sucker for their steamed rice too. However, the quality can vary from time to time. Even within the same meal. For example, when I get something with shrimp, some of the shrimp will be great and de-veined, but others will still have the shrimp feces inside it (most dont notice I just always remove it myself before eating) or be a tad undercooked. One of my friends won't come here after she got sick the last time. I can see why as the food might not settle with those with easy stomachs, but it is great. You just have to be used to food like that and you'll...

If I could give less than a star I would. First time here in Garden City, and stopped in for a late lunch. I ordered the deep fried garlic chicken. This was the most digusting plate of food served to me in my entire life! The manager was extremely rude when I sent my order back, she did not offer to make something else or acknowledge the fact that the chicken was tough, fried hard and garlic seasoning sprinkled over it. The rice tasted like cardboard with pepper sprinkled over it and the egg roll clearly wasn't fresh. I lost my appetite. I wouldn't recommend eating here or in the words of the manager/cook "thats just your opinion and it doesn't matter". The service as rude as it was, was actually better than the food. I certainly would hate to think the poor customer sevice was...
