Tacos El Tapatio — Restaurant in Garden City

OK, I have never been to this place before so I called them first to see if they had a drive-through and they don’t understand English so they hung up and then I went over there and you have to go inside even if it’s for takeout. They don’t have a menu with prices. They don’t have any prices on the overhead menu. It doesn’t show what’s in the food. It just shows a picture of the finished product. . Then you have to sit in that place tweet while your food is being made, and it is hotter than Hades in there. It was at least 100° inside with no air conditioning. I don’t understand how they think people will want to dine in.

I specifically told the waiter that I wanted ground beef but no, they did not give me ground beef. I ate only two bites of my meal and literally puked it up.

I am so disappointed with these people absolutely pathetic service and a pathetic place and the food is not that great !

I would never recommend this place and I sure hope they don’t stay in business long and they most certainly are not accommodating the American citizens since this is located in Garden...

I've been to many restaurants in garden city Kansas and has always enjoyed myself. My husband and I ordered food just last night almost midnight over the phone .We arrive and was immediately stared at by the whole staff they acted as if they didn't want to serve us because we are black . my husband and I felt very uncomfortable 2 years ago we use to come there all the time now there is a different entire staff. I even said hello and was very polite no one spoke back our food was ready and the cashier said in Spanish why didn't you tell me they were black that's how I know that this staff doesn't like black people. I woke up this morning and decided to write this review. The owner has always been professional and polite and welcoming but I will not ever dine in again because of the staff. Well I used to love this place to me they where the best tacos in town until the other day me and my son order Togo and when we got home and open our food it was a totally different thing than what we expected as far as quality. The tortillas seemed like they were microwaved and I order a ceviche tostada and it tasted horrible I couldn’t eat it something in there was rotten and that was one of my favorites from this place. I called and the lady who answer me told me she was on her brake and that when she had a chance she would tell the cook I will never again buy from this place that used to be my favorite. I didn’t cook that day because I had a lot of things to do and had to go to work I had to go to work and order something else and I never got a call back from anyone.
