Read moreDa Vien Coffee, located in the Korean Plaza in Garden Grove, is a hidden gem right at the corner of Garden Grove Blvd, easily visible from the street. I first learned about this spot from a TikTok video by @hungry4munchies, which prompted me to make the trip from Los Angeles to see what the buzz was aboutâespecially for their Matcha Coconut drink.
Ambiance: I expected the coffee shop to be bustling, given its popularity, and it rarely disappoints in that regard. The atmosphere is lively, with many seasonal flavors on offer. While I appreciate the variety, I always gravitate back to their Matcha Coconut drink. Just a heads upâif youâre sensitive to caffeine, their coffee is quite strong, so I recommend sticking to the lattes.
Service: Typically, the drinks come out within about 10 minutes, which is commendable considering the volume of orders they handle. However, the efficiency can vary depending on the cashier you get. Despite occasional inconsistencies in service, I find that Iâm primarily there for the drinks, and they usually deliver.
Drinks: The drinks at Da Vien are a highlight for me. As I mentioned, I would advise against trying their coffee unless youâre a true coffee aficionado who enjoys it black and unsweetened. Their lattes are a much safer bet. I particularly enjoy their Ube Latte, but the star of the show for me remains the Matcha Coconut. Itâs incredibly refreshing and features a thick layer of matcha foam, making it a delightful choice any time of day.
Overall Rating: In summary, Da Vien Coffee is a must try, especially for their unique drink offerings. Primarily for the standout Matcha Coconut drink despite occasional...

It is at the entrance of the Korean Plaza, the former home a Vietnamese Pháť restaurant.
With a larger parking lot, you'd expect tons of parking, however, I came on a Tuesday afternoon and there was little to no parking, and mind you, we're in a huge part of town that's dominantly Asian, so not the best drivers. I ended up parking in the other side of the plaza, by AR Galleria and walking.
The place itself though, is quite gorgeous inside, with plenty of seating. Once again though, keep in mind it was busy on a Tuesday afternoon, so little to no space to sit as well.
Service was still great though. Do keep in mind a $1USD charge to get the large instead of the regular size. This time I ordered the ube coffee, which I loved. Do be sure to mix well before drinking though, otherwise all you'll get is coffee.
As for food, I haven't tried it at this particular location, but I expect the quality to...
