Golden Sea for baptism reception and dancing from me
My bouncing baby nephew's baptism reception was held at Golden Sea, which was the most cost-effective option to find. It was held in the smaller banquet room to the left of the larger main banquet room. A few month prior, we scoped the place & decided upon what the set menu would be-
Egg flower soup Honey walnut shrimp Fried tofu Fried chicken w/ shrimp chips Fried fish Mongolian BBQ Beef fried rice Orange slices
The food came out in a timely manner, and served family-style on the lazy Susans which adorned all the tables. To the behest of some, the beef fried rice was served last. Most Filipinos, unlike myself, think there's no meal w/o rice. I spied some tables postponing really digging in until the rice was brought out. The food was good, albeit not exceptional. I wasn't particularly fond of the fried chicken, as I found it to be dry. Also, for 10 people a table, I thought the portions were on the meager side.
We were allowed to have a line dance instructor come and teach a few dance lessons for our guests. Surprisingly, a good number of them were good sports and gave it a shot. Being the proficient dancer I am, I acted as teacher's aide & was another guide for the first timer's to follow.
Service was good. The staff were prompt with the food, clearing tables & providing ice. They even offered to cut the cake into individual plates & partition them out to those in attendance. Parking is in a private lot at the Fresh Choice Marketplace center.
All in all, Golden Sea proved a good banquet spot for my nephew's (and godson's) baptism reception. Things went off w/o a hitch & everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I would've cared for higher quality food & in greater amount, but what we had did the job just fine. With a significant savings over other banquet options we checked out, Golden Sea proved the economical choice & my nephew now has plenty of pics of the joyous celebration we had for him at Golden Sea, including me dancing like a maniac...

They have very nice wedding menus, 9 dishes, with lobster, roast duck ect, $300-500 per table, charity and sales menus with 9 dishes with inexpensive ingredients, $238 to 380 per table. Even special menus are available in the range $100-150, negotiable depending on the number of guests. Beers and wines are $5-8.
I went to a sales event with about 400 guests. The menu was small, only 4 dishes, fish-maw soup, cashew shrimp, crispy fried chicken and fried rice. All 4 dishes were fresh, tasty, flavorful, delicious, seasoned just right, not overspiced, in the classic taste of Northern China cuisine.
I dine Chinese cuisines regularly, also managed a few charity events, have dined at many top-graded restaurants in So Cal, also a few renown restaurants throughout China. This chef delivers wholesome dishes full of taste, not at all greasy or sugary, without much Chinese spices and additives. Have to admit this chef does a very good job; the food is good to excellent, even with their low price points.
Too bad they are not serving regular meals everyday. I just have to look forward to attending more events at this place. Will consider it for my next events, or even single-table family banquets with a few people and pack left overs to go. $250 a table for 10 people with 9 dishes. Would be very good values. Definitely recommend this place...

Among many banquet venues, this chef is very good. All his dishes are fresh, tasty and flavorful without excess sugar, fat, spices or MSG.
The wait staff was polite and efficient. Service was good. Wine bottles were popped before food was served. Even in an event with 50 tables and 500 guests, all dishes were served fresh and hot in the correct sequence to all tables within 5 to 10 minutes.
They have a private room where they will cater to smaller parties with only 1 or 2 tables. BYOB and just tip the waiters, no corkage fee.
