Saigon Bistrot — Restaurant in Garden Grove

The restaurant is small but they are attentive. When we arrived there were no customers, but some arrived later and several picked up to go. My husband ordered the Pho and he said the Pho tasted good but the portion was small. Also, the leaves that come with it only had one stem and he could only use part of them, since they had black spots on them and were bad. The sprouts were a small portion too. I ordered the vermicelli combo with shrimp, pork, and egg rolls. The shrimp was cooked well and the egg rolls were good and crispy. The pork was cold and I wish they didn't serve it with sauce on it. It was a bit sweet for me. They were great in letting me get bean sprouts instead of a salad. The server we had didn't understand English but someone else came to assist him when I was asking questions. My food tasted good. The server came by and took the chili paste while we were eating. I was still using it and wish he would have asked to get it instead of reaching across our table and getting it without asking or saying excuse me. Also, he should have come with a full one and asked can he swap them. Later he returned and again just reached across and put it back. Later he did come by and asked if he could clear my plate. Then he filled our water without us asking. My hubby didn't want any but let him fill it since he already left and came back with the water. The owners were nice and the gentleman stopped by to see if everything was ok after the food first came out. The owners have great service and for that I would give them 5 stars. I deducted stars due to the bad leaves and the server just reaching across the table and not asking. Then when they brought us the bill, it had a QR code on the bottom to pay. We chose to do that but then felt weird leaving as nobody said anything about checking it. I took a screenshot, just in case. As we were walking out the door one of them asked the other one in Vietnamese if we paid. I would recommend they figure out how to verify this before people leave or get rid of it at the table and let people use it at the register. I recently came with my mom, and it was such a great experience from start to finish.

Food: We ordered the Bistrot’s Combination Rice Platter with grilled shrimp and pork, the Combination Vermicelli Noodles with grilled shrimp and chicken, and the Bistrot’s Sampler (wings, potstickers, egg rolls, rocket shrimp, and veggie/chicken/shrimp spring rolls). Every dish came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The grilled meats were tender and well-seasoned, the vermicelli was light but filling, and the sampler was a fun way to try a variety of appetizers. Portion sizes were generous without sacrificing quality.

Service & Atmosphere: The staff was very welcoming and attentive, making us feel comfortable right away. The restaurant has a warm, clean, and inviting atmosphere that works just as well for a casual meal as it would for a small gathering.

Overall: Between the delicious food, friendly service, and great portion sizes, Saigon Bistrot really stood out. My mom and I both left happy and satisfied. I’ll definitely be coming back soon to try more of...

First Visit Impressions – Worth a Second Trip! My son and I stumbled across this place the other day and decided to give it a try. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and seated right away. Since it was our first time, our waitress was incredibly friendly and patient, which we really appreciated.

We started with the Bistrot Sampler, which included Wings, Potstickers, Egg Rolls, Rocket Shrimps, Spring Roll, Grilled Pork Spring Roll, and Chicken Spring Roll. Overall, it was a great variety and everything tasted pretty good—though the rocket shrimp were a bit overcooked and ended up slightly burned. That was the only real miss on the plate.

We also tried the Garlic Fried Rice with Grilled Shrimp and the Grilled Chicken Bánh Mì (Gà Nướng) served with French Fries. Both were delicious—the rice was packed with flavor, and the bánh mì was fresh and satisfying.
