I usually have good experiences at this location, but unfortunately, tonight was disappointing.
I placed a mobile order and when I arrived, my food wasn’t on the counter. I waited 10–15 minutes before checking the app, which said my order was ready—even though nothing was there. I went to the front register and waited another 5–8 minutes to speak to someone. When the supervisor came over, she asked for my receipt. Ironically, my phone had just died.
I went home to charge my phone (about 15 minutes), came back, and showed my bank statement as proof of purchase, since the app removed the receipt after my phone died. However, I was told that wasn’t enough and was accused of possibly working with someone outside to get free food. I explained I only went to my mother’s car to charge my phone, but she still implied otherwise and said she could call the police. I called them myself to show I had nothing to hide.
After she spoke to her manager on the phone, she returned and said she’d remake my food, but that it was a “one-time thing” and it wouldn’t happen again—still suggesting I had done something wrong. She explained that many people had been stealing orders that night, which I understand, but I don’t think it’s right to accuse someone who is calmly providing proof.
In the end, she apologized, remade my food, gave me a McFlurry and some free coupons. I appreciate the gesture, but after waiting an hour and being accused of dishonesty, I won’t be returning.

I’ve worked in costumer service most of my life so I completely get that things get backed up/messed up an such BUT every time? This is my only “local” mc Donald’s so it’s not like I can pick another one. I’ve told myself many times I’m not going back but on a busy Friday night kids are hungry an you just want to get home so you think you’ve got an easy out, NOT with Gardiner mc Donald’s! This time I placed my order, paid went to next window he hands me the happy meal than asks me to go park and wait for the rest (no children in the back) so I said if I go park and wait for the rest the happy meal is going to be cold by the time I get home he says we’re waiting on nuggets and fries so I explained one more time he wasn’t understanding what I was saying! I’d totally understand handing me the happy meal if the child was in the back waiting.. but not only that of course I said I was parked to wait for food no joke every time I go there I get parked and it’s not like I order a lot 3-4 individual things! Read moreDear McDonald’s Customer Service, I am leaving this review to formally express my disappointment with the customer service I received at the McDonald’s location in Gardiner, Maine. On 2/2/2025 at approximately 11:15-11:27pm I went through the drive-thru to place an app order. The female employee taking my order had difficulty understanding my code, and after repeating myself four times, I explained that I have braces, which might be affecting my speech. I also mentioned that if she still couldn’t understand me, I would come to the window to clarify. Instead of responding professionally, she accused me of being “nasty” and told me to “get off her line, despite my calm attempts to explain. At that point, I decided not to proceed with my order and instead requested her name to leave a review. She ignored me. I then went inside to speak with a manager, but I was informed no manager was on duty. To my frustration, I saw my order appear on the register, proving she had actually understood me the entire time this experience left me feeling disrespected and upset.
