Replying to @scooter monzingo Groundhouse Coffee - Gardner Hometown corner spot with tons of space to sip, socialize, and study. The old building is warm and comforting and the sips were great! I got the ā€œKissing Cowā€! @Groundhouse Coffee #coffee #coffeetok #yummy #kc #kansascity

I am visiting Kansas and wanted to try a new cafe. I’ve heard downtown Gardner was a great place to look and this was the first place I went. It’s very cute and has a great vibe. The only issue is that they have a beautiful menu of food shown all day that is not available after 10am. I learned later that they actually do have a ham and cheese turnover that could’ve been suggested to me, but salads and sandwiches in a cooler were suggested (not as appealing as the food on the menu so I declined). My recommendation would be to take down that menu after 10am. My eyes went on the menu when I first walked in and I was allowed to look at the menu long enough to decide what I wanted. It’s a big let down to be told the items I’ve set my heart (and hungry stomach) on are not available. My other suggestion would be to make a lunch menu if possible. I ordered a coffee in place of the food I was wanting, and asked for a suggestion. Caramel Lattes are the most popular coffee drink around America for sure, so that is what I was recommended. It was a 3/5 for me because it kind of just tasted like flavoring. I also got a cake, which was alright, not super moist. This review is just my honest opinion on my experience and the items I did order, 3 because it wasn’t bad and the place was clean and aesthetic. I also ended up going around the corner to Blazers to eat, not as healthy as Groundhouse food (which I was looking forward to because there isn’t as much healthy-advertised food in the mid-west, especially out in Gardner or Spring Hill) but was very good.

Really not the greatest. Generic at best. It didn’t start good since I had to repeat several times and one word at a time what my drink was, to find out in the end the girl at the register wrote a totally different order. While waiting at pick up I got time to watch the baristas run their bar and I really wasn’t impressed. One girl did my drink entirely, noticed it was almond milk written on the cup, tossed her mistake in the sink and rinsed the cup (I personally would save the plastic cup but as a barista Iā€˜d worry more about lactose contamination, at the very least ask the customer if they’re intolerant). She started the drink again and as suspected after watching her go through every step one more time and announce the drink, this was not what I ordered. Before picking it up I asked a third barista to confirm what kind of drink it was (you never know, I could still get what I wanted). Not what I wanted, she sighed, took the drink, tossed it completely (even the cup) and there went drink #3. Guess what, still not completely right but at this point did I care? Maybe more than the girls running the floor. The way they maintained their espresso machine was questionable: steaming wands and milk pitchers need cleaning after every drink. In the end I got an average drink. Overly sweet (I couldn’t drink it all it was getting gross), Torani syrup for generic sugary flavours, no coffee to taste since they forgot it in their third attempt and the chai comes in powder (for added sugar and no spice). Oh yeah I ordered an iced dirty pumpkin chai with almond milk (they advertised pumpkin chais so might as well try it,...

If your ready for a quality, rich with flavor, cup of coffee to get you going in the morning or maybe just a mid afternoon pick me up, then look no further then Ground house. The charming establishment brings out a warm ambiance with a calm, natural stone surrounding the relaxing atmosphere. There customer service is ideal and welcoming and very family and business friendly to fit your needs. There are a variety of delicious drinks from the menu that will have your taste bubs wanting to explore more, and please whatever you're in the mood for. My favorite is a must try, the Iced Chai Vanilla Latte, that always leaves me with a bite of fall flavors, even when its 100 outside. Ground house breakfest menu has a variety of sweet and savory house made crepes, that are perfect for a girlfriend brunch. To top that off old fashion homemade biscuits and gravy that will complete your Sunday afternoon with your family. Its hard to chose from all the rich, impressive bakery items, like walking into your grandmothers house. Just the wonderful smell alone will draw in and have you wanting to take home the local Kc bagged coffee, perfect for your in home coffee bar. The quality in service doesn't stop there. They have two full time working establishments in town with one as a full drive through when your on the go and want your favorite items. Also, find Ground house on Mobile ordering pickup. I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying for yourself, your taste buds...
