Subway — Restaurant in Gardner

From the moment my husband and I walked in, the staff looked at us and didn't say one word. Very awkward. For some reason, they have their meats and cheeses covered so you cannot see what they're making and pulling out for your sandwich, if we could've seen what they were pulling from then we could have modified our order but I had no idea how the sandwich was being assembled which is what most people like to see about the "making" of their Subway sandwich. Staff seems stressed out due to online orders, which was prioritized before a dine in customer. I recommend hiring more staff to ensure the best service online and in person so no one is standing around wondering what's going on. Two people working. We waited nearly 20 minutes for the one car aheads of us. They decided not to use earpiece in the drive through, even though we could hear them chatting inside and it seemed to work fine. Instead they waved us to the window to write down our orders (good thing I knew what I wanted). One worker flirted with a customer inside the whole 35 minutes we were there, piddling with a single sandwich. Oh hold on, THIS JUST IN! BREAKING NEWS! Another worker has entered the scene... and he’s just as clueless as the other two. They’ve been wearing the same latex gloves all night, touching the window, wall outside the window, paper and pencil, our sandwiches, never changing gloves. I have ordered a lot of salads from Subway over the years and never have I ever seen a salad prepared the way the store prepared it. It usually comes in a big container and is such a big portion you can't finish it in one sitting. I ordered a tuna salad and it was given to me in a bowl that was half full with barely any lettuce and missing spinach completely. When I asked why they made it this way they just said they followed the instructions and that's how they make salads here. I've never received such a small portion for a $15 salad. Definitely not worth the money. I've eaten here many times for the sandwiches but will not be coming back. They charge too much for what little amount you get. Shrinkflation at its finest....
