I need to give credit where credit is due.

As someone who is extremely picky with tamales I have to say..House Tamal in Garland made Me shed a tear of joy.. it’s hard to find that perfect ratio of meat to masa and the best sweet tamales. I listened to everyone’s recommendations and I ordered.

I ordered a dozen red pork, a dozen green chili chicken and half dozen pineapple and half dozen strawberry. It was so good, you look forward to each bite. You can taste the love that goes into each one, and let’s face it, making tamales is a lot of work. So I appreciate it a lot more when it’s delicious!

These tamales are probably the best I’ve ever had. I’ve always compared tamales to California which were a staple for my family… I’ve tried a lot of tamales over the years from California, New York and now Texas and it’s been years since I found one comparable to California. Wonderful spot. Food is made fresh to order, including the churros. They make these warm drinks that somehow give you cozy feelings, like a hug in a cup. One of the warm beverages is made from pecans.

The pork tamales are a customer favorite, and I understand why. I got the pork tamales plate for like $10. They were so moist. The beans were topped with cheese, which I liked.
