Mariscos Golfo Restaurant — Restaurant in Garland

Plenty of parking. The restaurant sign was not visible. Upon arrival it's not your typical seat down there is no host nor directions to be seated. Picture a fast-food dining experience. The food left more to be desired. We had a "vuelve Ala vida" cocktail, it was very Scarce on the seafood portioning, with very little octopus chopped in very tiny pieces, the shrimp tasted old, oysters were slim and few. It was a bit too sweet, The whole cocktail was overpriced. The Chipotle shrimp meal was way too spicy and did not come with any warning label. The shrimp was in a paste-like they just dump a can of Chipotle. The rice was mushy and under season the meal just had a generic feel and taste to it. I went last night and ordered the del golfo caldo and the shrimp and fish caldo the food was horrible the caldo had no flavor it was basically a warm bottle of clamato with shrimp and fish that had no flavor at all same with the veggies in it , I would never recommend anyone to go and eat a marisco caldo there I got the large one for about 20 bucks each and I got a 20oz cup of warm clamato I mean I was so disappointed I mean never go eat there if ur looking for a good marisco caldo this is not the place go to ...now El pulpito in garland is awesome u will not be disappointed but this place sucked marisco caldo suppose to be flavorful spicy it tasted like warm sweet watered down ketchup and my wife said the octopus in hers was so disgusting as well as the oysters smh I never put reviews but this place really...

I love this place! Have been a customer for over 25 years. The tostadas de ceviche are simply the best! I absolutely love their soups and fried shrimp basket with the tartar sauce they make! The fries are so appealing. I've never tasted a tostada de ceviche like theirs! Friendly service and the atmosphere feels like if I'm in Mexico.
