Tranky's Tacos — Restaurant in Garland

This is a HIDDEN GEM!!

I was getting my windows tinted in the same centre and decided to grab some lunch at this little place while I was waiting. I am SO glad I did! The menu is breif, which makes deciding pretty easy. I got the Tres Tacos lunch plate which came with your choice of mix & match tacos. I opted for fajita beef, chicken and the spiced pork. I also got a side of chips and salsa. Holy tacos! They were THE best tacos I have ever had & that means a lot coming from me! Each one was better than the last, but I have to say the spiced pork was my favorite. The meat was melt-in-you-mouth tender and bursting with flavor. You clearly TASTE the FRESH! I'm not talking about Taco Bueno fresh....I'm talking about steal a bite from the pot while abuella is still cooking FRESH! Whereveer you are...it's worth the trip to try this place! Did I mention that it's family owned and ran? And the father, owner and chef of this hidden gem brings your food to the table personally! Super sweet and friendly guy...along with the rest of the family...

Hands down, no questions asked, no competition..... BEST and most TENDER!!!!!steak tacos you will ever eat, I'm a blue collar worker and I eat out ALOT, I've been trying for years to find better tacos anywhere in DFW and I've never came even close! I drive from North Fort Worth all the way to Garland TX just to get these tacos, I wish i was joking, I just can't find any better tacos closer to my house.

Even there there rice and baracho beans are way better than anywhere I've ever had. Everything I've had here is great but listen to me when I tell you, GET THE STEAK TACOS!!! the tenderness and flavor will blow your mind, definitely not what your used to in a street taco! And the sautéed onions are amazing!!!

And the owner/chef is awesome, always super friendly and talkative, and to my suprise even answered my questions when I was asking how he gets his tacos so tender.

I don't think I'll ever find better tacos but I'm still looking

I was in this part of town and am ALWAYS looking for the hidden taqueria so I noticed this place and figured I would stop in and give it a try. Let’s just say, I am GLAD I did!!

A little tough to get to and dining room is a little small but during lunch I was able to get a seat.

Ordered chips and queso. Great flavor, a little on the runny side but not a deal breaker.

Ordered taco platter with Chicken, El Pastor and barbacoa. Also had to try homemade Gordita. Got pastor on that one.

Every meat was FRESH. Tortillas were fried perfectly, not soggy. I’m a sucker for a good sauce and their habenero sauce was amazing. The juice from the meat, combined with their sauce drowned in your mouth and throat.

This was so good I asked to talk to manager and turns out he was the owner! Such a nice guy! Family owned and operated and it shows that they all take pride in their food. Next time I’m in Dallas, this is where I’m bringing everyone....
