The GOOD: Food was not bad, but salty (if you have high BP may want to avoid). Lady working by herself 2/15/25 was friendly and attentive, spoke good English. Cooked well, too! Dont know why someone else complained about rice it was simple, buttery but light, cooked perfect, no extras, just plain spanish rice. Chips too, light thin crisp, not too salty, salsa with those was a bit mild for my spicy tastes... Wife enjoyed soup even though they didnt have beef (?!) she had to order the chicken version, but no complaints about its taste.
The BAD: several tables messy/not bussed, over an hour we were there. Other than checking on us (which she did several times), she sat with her family. No no one else came in the entire time we were there. Its probably more busy weekdays since industrial/manufacturing/office type area. Men's Restroom was dirty. Soap dispenser didnt work, roll of paper towels just sat on top of toilet unrolling touching against the toilet lid/seat... stank. So I peeked in the kitchen, it too looked like floors had not been cleaned in ages. dimly lit. To be fair, they are operating in an old building & likely because the rent is cheap; the water also tasted terrible- not filtered, just tap water from dirty old pipes. We still ate, the food was decent & authentic (not tex mex), but they didnt include guac with fajitas like the menu said. Decent charro beans but very salty and the portions were appropriate, except skimpy on the pico (about a tablespoon).
The UGLY: Come time to pay we try to use the coupon from entertainment passbook which is why we drove all the way here from 25m away, and they refused to take it. I had to explain more than once what it was, and she tried to say it passed, I said no there's no date, its an annual membership that we just recently paid/renewed; your owner is enrolled in this program she should call her but NOPE. Paid full price :( could have had similar food/price in our own East Dallas neighborhood. Food was ok, but we like to try new places, and were just trying to get our $ worth out of the membership we pay for. If you were hoping to use entertainment coupon here, don't bother... Lots of other places with offers within 10 miles. Its disappointing how often we have experienced business owners failing to tell their employees, or teach them how to honor the deals. Owner should give this woman another $5 since it affected her...
Read moreI originally wanted bbq but since the place next door was closed and coworker and I decided to come here. You could tell this a typical dine in place that allowed you to take orders to-go. I got something simple street tacos no sides just the tacos. Can we say disappointed. I spent 9 dollars on 4 corn tacos. The woman goes on about how they are big tacos. Yes big and soggy, very little meat inside them. They gave me basically a whole lime they attempted to cut up. One miniature salsa like that was going to be enough. We didn't eat in, as I get to work its difficult to enjoy my lunch. The barbacoa was under seasoned and way too fatty, The "grilled onions" sure you can called them that if you want. the tacos basically fell apart before I could even take a bite. Who the hell doesn't double up on corn tortilla for a taco? I don't know if it was because of my race or if they just didn't care. My coworker says her torta was good but I wouldn't go here for regular street tacos you will highly disappointed on the money spent. I won't be coming back first impression was the worse...
Read moreThis place was recommended by a friend that enjoys the pancakes here. Decided to go one morning because that's what I wanted. Came in without a greeting and just a look. I had to ask about seating. Took a seat and ordered our drinks. Ordered a beverage that was in the menu. Waitress returned to tell us they didn't have any. Waitress came back with drinks and took order. Husband ordered a plate that came with pancakes and I ordered some as a side with my plate. She comes back and tells us they don't have any pancakes and if he'd like churros instead. He ordered tortillas to come with the plate instead. At this point I'm already disappointed. A few minutes before the food comes out chips and salsa are brought to the table. Food comes out. Tortillas are store bought like most are around the area. Bacon looks like ready to eat bacon that's been microwaved. Food was not appetizing and had no flavor. We ate it as not to waste. Will not be back. The only plus was the restroom...
