We were looking forward to the opening of the Georgetown Einstein Bagels since we had shopped at the Austin Anderson Lane location to get our Baker's Dozens previously when we had another excuse to be in Austin. We were disappointed in the texture of the Georgetown bagels. A good bagel (like those we have gotten on many occasions in Austin) have plenty of "chew" to them, a sort of "toughness" that fights back when you bite into it. That's a result of using a high gluten flour and working the dough sufficiently to develop the gluten. The Georgetown bagels were more like sandwich bread in texture, not like a good sourdough stretch and texture.
We're hoping for some improvement in the future and may give it another try in a few months to see if the bakers changes the flour or dough-working technique. (They could probably take some tips from the head baker at the Austin Anderson Lane Einstein Bros. He's been on the job for 4 or more years and those bagels have never disappointed.) It would also be great if they could offer an Ancient Grains bagel - found at the Anderson Lane Einsteins. It's a 10 out of 10!
The "atmosphere" was rated 3 star because the lobby is (understandably) quite small with the line of customers hovering over the few tables. But the employees were friendly...
Read moreUnable to customize sandwiches in the app so I was unable to remove the chipotle aioli on the brisket bagel sandwich. Called the store within 3 minutes to ask for the customization. App said order would take 15-20 minutes. Person that answered the phone said “Your order is already made”. I explained I could not do the customization it in the app. She said yes any customizations have to be done in person or you have to call right away or call in advance. I said I did call quickly and the order said 15-20 minutes. I had to ask twice for it to be remade as my kid won’t eat that sauce. At that point I was told it would be a longer wait for my sandwiches when it originally took less than 3 minutes to make 2 sandwiches. Could have been handled better. My kid went in to get the food and told the person he was there for an order under my name, the person said “oh honey I just got off the phone with your mom and I told her it would be longer to get it”. We were already en route after a doctor appointment and this place was close by. My son asked for the lemonade we ordered because they gave him the sandwiches, but not the drink. The person rolled their eyes at him as they handed over the drink. Not sure I will be returning. There are other breakfast...
Read moreThe lady with long black hair or maybe brown with glasses, she is very rude and unprofessional. First of all, she doesn’t smile while talking to a customer and you can tell she is a miserable human. I ordered an everything bagel and asked for extra plain cream cheese, because previously there was HARDLY any on it. So I paid an extra $2 something and when I checked my bagel, still hardly any. It was melted, which i understand it will melt a little from the bagel being toasted. I backed up and the same lady came to the window. She opened with a rude look and I said can I plz have more cream cheese on my bagel, and she smirked at me and just shut the window. A man came to the window also rude and asked me what do I want and I repeated myself and he went on to say that the have to measure out the cream cheese and that I did get extra and said I have to pay ANOTHER $2 for more lol. At that point I just said forget it. Maybe these 2 individuals need to learn what customer service means and learn how to talk to customers. I mean, what would it have hurt to give a penny size more. I would rather drive to round rock, then to go to this location and have to deal with that lady. So unprofessional...
