Sorry to say, I won't be using this florist again. Pros: I requested (via online message) they use some pastels, with rose and hydrangea if possible. Arrangement looks professional. Roses are nice. They must have seen my comments.
Cons: Very short on flowers for the money. Lots of filler greens, which is nice but the arrangement is very sparse on flowers and not worth the cost. The hydrangea is wilting already and was delivered in that condition.
Really bad part. I never got a confirmation email as the online order said I would. The confirmation page said the flowers were already delivered 3 days before they were supposed to be (and they hadn't been). This was the week prior to Mother's Day, so I understand they were busy, but I tried to call repeatedly for 2 days and obviously they took the phone off the hook and weren't answering, from early am to closing. I didn't know if the flowers were coming or not, and had no way to confirm because they weren't answering the phone. It appears they may take too many orders to fulfill customer service that goes along with them???
HEB in Georgetown had absolutely magnificent huge arrangements that put this to shame for the same amount of money delivered. I was so sorry I hadn't gotten them instead. As a back up, I got a couple bouquet of roses at HEB for 15% of the cost of this arrangement and another bouquet at HEB for 1/2 the cost of this arrangement, both of which I found to be much nicer and could have also been delivered. I try to support local small business but the value is too far off on this and the communication was non-existent, so I stressed over whether it would even arrive.
I'd read another review that said the flowers were sub-par and they wondered if it was because the order was from out of state. This order would have appeared to be from out of state since I was ordering on behalf of my sibling who lives out of state. However, I am here in person to see it. I'm not sure if that's an issue or not, but I'm mentioning bc someone else did. I did not contact the florist before posting this, bc they are closed today and I spent too much time trying to reach them earlier.
I'm posting pictures of the arrangement received from A Matter of Taste first for $75 including delivery (has the yellow aster). The other two I picked up as a back up in case AMOTF didn't deliver. Pink in the middle is HEB for $35 third is HEB for $15 ............ Just very...
Read moreThere was a resolution to our problem, but I still wouldn't use this florist again.
We ordered a standing and casket spray for my grandfathers funeral. The casket spray was pretty sparse and the roses on his standing spray didn't look very good. We saw this the night before at his visitation. His service was early the next day, so I didn't think there would be time to do anything about it.
I called to tell the flower shop on Monday to say I was disappointed. I didn't want another family to have funeral flowers like that. The person I talked to listened and apologized. They offered a plant. I sent her a picture of everything and she was even more apologetic and said she could see about getting us some money back (we had payed for the flowers through the funeral home, so they had to figure that out) I directed her to my aunt who purchased the flowers and they agreed on a partial refund. We were thankful for that. It was just a bummer that my aunt and I both heard excuses about how the funeral home didn't care for the flowers properly and that's why they were wilted/sparse. They really threw the funeral home under the bus and said they must have dropped the casket spray and flowers fell out. I wish the florist could have owned up to their mistake instead of giving excuses. It was January when this happened, so I'm not sure how the flowers could have become that damaged from improper storage at the funeral home. I thought flowers preferred cooler environments, but also it wasn't hot enough inside the funeral home for them to wilt. I've had roses from the grocery store that seemed to last quite a while, even when I somewhat neglected them. Plus, that is between the florist and the funeral home. In a way it made it worse that the florist implied negligence on the funeral homes part. A simple apology would have been better, then they could have talked to the funeral home in private to figure out...
Read moreI highly recommend A Matter of Taste. My sister was getting married and having a very small ceremony. She wanted a bouquet but mentioned she would stop at a grocery store on the way and pick something up. I refused to let her do that. I went into A Matter of Taste on a Thursday hoping they might have some flowers I could put together for my sister. Dianna was happy to help. She walked me through the whole shop and let me pick the flowers I wanted. She even ordered flowers online. She offered to put it together for me as well. Not only was the bouquet exactly what my sister wanted, but, Dianna also made her a floral halo/crown and a boutonnière for the groom. She did all of that on two days notice. Everything was perfect! My sister told me her flowers were her favorite part of the whole day! She loved them even more than her dress. Dianna, thank you so much for making her day perfect. Everyone there worked together to make this a great experience! Will definitely...
