American Deli — Restaurant in Georgia

I wish I could give this place zero stars!! I called the order in when I was in Lithonia. When I arrived, there was a cashier taking orders and two other girls texting/looking at their phones. The cashier asked for the last 4 digits of my phone number. I gave them to her. She handed me two cups, so I proceeded to get my drinks. She yelled “You haven’t paid me yet ma’am!!!” I said that I wasn’t a worker there and didn’t know process. Maybe she should’ve given me my cups and then said, “That’ll be $21.35!” After I paid, I asked if my food was ready. Of course, it wasn’t!! But I called it in when I was 20 minutes away….in Lithonia!!! When my food was ready, the younger looking girl showed me my order to make sure it was correct. I looked at my wings and asked “I ordered medium sauce with lemon pepper sprinkle, extra wet. Is there lemon pepper on those wings?” She replied “I don’t know”, with an attitude. The cashier then said “No. They didn’t add the lemon pepper. They did it wrong.” And just stood there looking at me. They must’ve seen how quickly my face changed because she then said, “You can put your own lemon pepper sprinkle on your wings. It’s some lemon pepper right here on the counter.” My wings were not “extra wet”, more like EXTRA DRY!!!! The Customer Service experience is extremely important for businesses that not only want to survive, but thrive. I’ve been to this restaurant several times. But after this experience, I will NEVER spend my hard earned money at this establishment...

Food and customer service both TRASH!!!!!!!! If you value your mental health as well as your stomach health, DO NOT EAT HERE PLEASE!!!

My husband and I stopped here for dinner on 8/3/2024 ordered wing and Philly, the young light skinned skinny girl with the valance bang baby hairs across her forehead with unkept cornrows was so rude and unprofessional..,Air pods stuck in her ears having a very inappropriate conversation while trying to take our order and apparently can’t multitask, because she continued to get our order wrong and couldn’t understand a word we were saying , when told she had it wrong she acted like we were annoying her!!! The attitude she displayed and tone she had almost took me out of my character!!! All of this going on while the older lady cashier or whomever just watched and said nothing!!!

After all of that, our food was horrible, not to mention the order wasn’t right!!! I was so fed up and they would not give a refund!! Should have went with my first mind and canceled our order once the encounter with the front counter went so wrong!!!

As I sit here writing this review, I have the worst stomach ache ever with nausea and I only ate two wings and a small portion of the beef Philly, which was bland and dry!!! I just do not believe in waist of money, but I couldn’t eat anymore and I was starving!!!

You should be embarrassed to call yourself a service based business. I called and ordered my food at 629pm on Sun 1/5/25. I wanted to order a gyro and I was told the grill was already closed. The grill was closed 31 mins before closing?? Fine I ordered wings with fries instead. When I arrived to pick it up at 654pm, 6 mins before closing, the entire staff was walking out the store, lights off!

No apologies from anyone on the staff. Just we are closed. You make your own hours of operation. I arrived 6 mins before your advertised closing time and I wasted my time traveling to your location in the rain to pick my food up. I was pissed and hungry. This staff does not value anyone's time, customer experience.

If you plan on closing at a different time, let your customers know. What is upsetting the most, is the fact I called my order in and no one advised me on the phone to be here by 650pm because we will be closed. Don't you have FRANCHISE rules to follow.

I work in retail also so I understand wanting to get home but this is completely unacceptable and I will never return to American Deli. The same type of wings combo are available at Wingstop and Touchdown Wings. You have no customer appreciation for customer service American Deli...
